Bluey fans are struggling to decipher the meaning behind the mysterious ending to the surprise episode of the beloved children’s show.
The creators of the Australian animation sent fans into a frenzy this week when they dropped a secret episode, aptly titled The Surprise, on ABC on Sunday without warning.
It came after viewers thought the third season had come to an end with The Sign the previous week attracting 2.2 million viewers in Australia, ahead of the show’s planned hiatus.
However, the creators have now left baffled fans in a tailspin as they teased Bluey’s future in the mysterious ending of season three’s surprise finale this week.
The Surprise saw Bandit trying to play two different games with his children, while Bluey continued to surprise him with a ball launcher, while Bingo wanted him to take care of her imaginary babies.
Bluey fans have been going crazy trying to decipher the meaning behind the mysterious ending to the secret episode of the beloved children’s show, titled The Surprise, which was released this week.
But Bluey decides to end his game of ambushing Bandit when he overhears him telling one of Bingo’s babies that his family will always support him with a sweet message.
The episode then ends with a trailer showing an adult Bluey visiting her parents at their beloved Queensland home, which was almost sold in The Sign.
Chilli opens the door to her daughter Bluey, who says she thought she would stop by, and the family goes to the kitchen to meet Bingo, who is already at her house.
Then the doorbell rings again, and although at first it seems like no one is there, a pup is seen shamelessly hiding behind the door waiting to ambush Bandit with a ball blaster.
The adorable full circle moment sent fans into a tailspin as they tried to figure out who the mystery pup was and what it could mean for the beloved family.

On social media, fans shared their theories that the puppy is Bluey’s son and speculated that Mackenzie is the father while commenting on the puppy’s ears.
They wrote: “Good take, but Mackenzie is clearly the father of Bluey’s child.” I know a lot of people want Jean Luc to be the father, but the fluffier coat, markings, a floppy ear, and the puppy’s coloring indicate a blue heeler/border collie mix;
‘That puppy belongs to Mackenzie and no one can convince me otherwise’; ‘After the recent Bluey episode, I’m still team Jean-Luc. I don’t think he is, but I’m rooting for that puppy’;
‘I watched the latest episode of Bluey which premiered in the UK today; That little puppy at the end was definitely a Bluey and Mackenzie puppy, right?
In fast forward, adult Bluey visits her childhood home and when Bandit opens the door, a mysterious boy is seen hiding behind the door, waiting to ambush Bandit with a ball blaster.
Fans took to social media to speculate whether the mystery pup is Bluey’s own son in a sign about her future, or whether the little one could be Bingo’s baby.
Some fans theorized that he was not Bluey’s son, but Bingo’s, while other viewers thought he was Aunt Brandy’s son, after her pregnancy was revealed in The Sign.
Fans were completely stunned when ABC released the surprise episode this week, ahead of the show’s plans to take an extended hiatus.
The broadcaster went to great lengths to hide the secret episode, even including it as a repeat on TV listings, before surprising fans with the new installment.
The episode came a week after the Heeler family put their home on The Sign up for sale, causing panic among parents and fans that the series could end.
It was feared Bluey could be done for after the family put their Queensland home up for sale, but they did not go ahead with the sale and producers have assured fans that Bluey will return.
But the family didn’t go through with their planned move at the end of the episode, and The Surprise later confirmed that they were still living in the same house.
Bluey producer Sam Moor also emphasized that the show would return in the future and planted a little Easter egg for Sunday’s episode.
‘It’s the question on everyone’s lips. No, it’s not the end for Bluey. “I’m sure we have many more surprises in store for you,” she told BBC Radio 4 last week.
Bluey is broadcast in more than 60 countries. The Emmy Award-winning cartoon is the second most popular streaming show in the United States.
