MANILA, Philippines – Gary Tamayo and Joseph Ambo will battle for the Philippine Boxing Federation interim super bantamweight crown when Manny Pacquiao Presents: Blow-by-Blow returns Saturday at the Mandaluyong College of Science and Technology Gymnasium.
The 14-fight card also features a super lightweight matchup between Ali Canega of Elorde Fight team against Jhunback Carcedo of Sanman Boxing of General Santos City.
Both Tamayo and Ambo tipped at 121.8 pounds at Friday’s official weigh-in.
Pacquiao, who revived the popular TV boxing show almost a year ago, is using the program to give Filipino boxers a chance to shine.
“I identify with them because I used to fight under the banner of Blow-By-Blow,” Pacquiao said, noting that he will continue to support the search for the country’s next ring hero.
Blow-by-Blow returns after a successful show in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur last month where Al Tiyogon defeated Rimar Metuda by majority decision to claim the Philippine Boxing Federation lightweight title.
