Cook was eventually arrested after a six-hour search for neighboring police forces and K-9 units were engaged to assist with the investigation.

The fight started with a car chase shortly after 3am Wednesday, when Hutchison, on a police motorbike, tried to persuade Cook for traffic violations.

Allegedly shots were exchanged after Cook had destroyed the motorcycle at County Road 4117, KLTV reported.

Cook was eventually arrested around 10 am in a wooded area near the Ironton community in Cherokee County.

He was transported to Henderson County jail where he was charged with attempted capital murder of a police officer. Cook may face more costs, it was reported.
