In the past week, we learned that the state of California has filed a lawsuit against Blizzard, citing numerous stories of sexual harassment at the company. The revelations were followed by even more stories of unacceptable behavior by company leaders, and now the Blizzard president (who was named in the lawsuit) is leaving the company “to pursue new opportunities.”
Workers were notified this morning of the departure of J. Allen Brack, and an announcement of Activision Blizzard says former Vicarious Visions leader Jen Oneal and former Xbox executive Mike Ybarra will take over as co-leaders of the company.
J. Allen Brack:
I am confident that Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra will provide the leadership Blizzard needs to realize its full potential and accelerate the pace of change. I expect that they will do this with passion and enthusiasm and that they can be confident that they will lead with the highest degree of integrity and dedication the components of our culture that make Blizzard so special.
