Molly says that men often message her to tell her they enjoyed her company after a date.

Every week, singles contacted by FEMAIL tell us about their blind dates.

Was this week the beginning of a love story for promising young people Molly and Shawn, or the end of the road?

Molly, 24

Single for two years, no children.

Current role: Digital public relations executive.

I would like to know: An independent man with good family relationships and a good work ethic.

Molly says that men often message her to tell her they enjoyed her company after a date.

Dating someone from the past?

I was in a relationship for two years in college, but I’ve been single ever since. Lately, I’ve been trying to be more ruthless on apps and have a three-date rule before I sleep with a guy.

Pre-date jitters?

A little bit. But I’ve been on seven dates since March and have received good feedback. Men often message to say they’ve enjoyed my company.

First impressions?

We gave each other a warm hug and I noticed that Shawn is 5’10” – a bit taller. I may only be 5’6″ but I prefer tall men. On his questionnaire, he listed “working out” as a hobby so I was expecting a gym junkie but he wasn’t.

He was wearing a striking purple satin shirt that looked great on him. Although Shawn is not my conventional type, I need to get out of my usual zone because it hasn’t worked out so far.

Is he easy to talk to?

We had a nice chat for two hours. It wasn’t a quick or rushed meal. I was very hungry so I had olives, steak, fries and dessert.

Shawn used to work at a hotel in Mayfair, where he met my favourite celebrity, Elvis Presley actor Austin Butler. Now he is trying to become a social media content creator.

We mentioned past relationships. Shawn hasn’t had much luck with women and he’s not very confident. When I came back from the bathroom, I found him chatting with the guys at the next table. They tried to convince him that I had left. I would never do that!

Embarrassing moments?

No, it was quite civilized.

Did sparks fly?

No, I’m one of those people who makes decisions right away. The hug was awkward, which didn’t help.

Do you see it again?

No. Shawn is eager to become a YouTube celebrity, but I don’t like that. I didn’t accompany him to the station because I hate awkward conversations. He asked for my Instagram and said, enigmatically, that he hoped our paths would cross again.

What do you think he thought of you?

It’s hard to read Shawn. He didn’t give me any compliments, but I guess he liked me because he liked the photos on my Instagram grid the next day.

Would your friends like it?

I don’t see why not, but we’re like night and day, so they wouldn’t understand why I was with him.

Molly’s verdict: 5/10

Appreciated? It was good company.

Regrets? None at all.

Coffee or taxi? Taxi.

Shawn, 25

Single for nine months, no children.

Current role: Corporate Administrator.

I would like to know: An adventurous and healthy woman who can cook a curry as well as I can.

Shawn says he was surprised that his date ordered a steak and fries.

Dating someone from the past?

I’ve never dated anyone long enough to call it a relationship. Unfortunately, women my age tend to get drunk every weekend and smoke strawberry e-cigarettes. It’s very unattractive.

Pre-date jitters?

A blind date is a big deal, but I never shy away from a challenge.

First impressions?

Molly has very pretty eyes and was wearing a stunning dress. I congratulated her and gave her a hug to say hello. It’s lucky for her that I arrived early as I am often late for appointments. I kept one woman waiting for 30 minutes. She blocked me on her phone.

Is he easy to talk to?

Yes, although I was worried about the menu at first. I’ve been on a diet based solely on red meat protein, so I opted for chicken for a change.

I have been trying to gain muscle mass, but so far all I have achieved is fat gain. I work out seven days a week.

I was surprised that she ordered steak and chips on a date. Women don’t usually eat that kind of food, do they? And she ate it all! She told me that her sister met her husband on a blind date. I wanted to propose to her as a joke, but I wasn’t sure how she would take it.

Embarrassing moments?

When Molly was in the bathroom, one of the two gentlemen at the next table asked, “Did she leave?” I told him that if she had left, they could join me. She came back (thankfully).

Did sparks fly?

There was some chemistry. It took me two hours to realize she was something special. I’m sure I saw something in her expression that said she felt the same way. I’d say she was making an effort to flirt, so I did the same. The clue was how hard she was laughing.

Do you see her again?

Yeah, maybe for a bowling date? While Molly has the eyes of my dream woman, I didn’t get that instant punch in the gut, so I need to see her again to see if it’s there.

What do you think he thought of you?

I’m good at reading other people. I think she thought I was a cool, funny guy, but I don’t think Molly had any romantic interest.

Would your friends like it?

They told me to make it work because Molly is a dream.

Shawn’s verdict: 8/10

Appreciated? I had a lot of fun.

Regrets? I wish I had chosen the chocolate dessert.

Coffee or taxi? Coffee.
