Gwyneth Paltrow has admitted she is preparing to “grieve” the loss of her son Moses when he goes to university this autumn.

The actress, 51, shares her 17-year-old son with ex-husband Chris Martin and will become an empty nester later this year when Moses follows in the footsteps of her sister Apple, 19, by leaving her home to continue his studies.

Her stepson Brody, her husband Brad Falchuk’s youngest son, will also be going to college at the same time.

Asked about Sunday weather How she feels about the situation, Gwyneth confessed: ‘On the one hand, incredible sadness. A deep sense of impending pain.

‘Then again, this is exactly what should be happening. Your kids are supposed to be, you know, young adults who can achieve, cope, make connections, and be resilient. That’s exactly what you want. And that means they leave the house.

Detailing her ‘complicated’ emotions, Gwyneth continued: ‘Motherhood has defined and fulfilled me greatly. It’s been kind of central… it’s been kind of central… I don’t even know how to articulate it! It is like the guiding force. It’s what I come back to.’

While she admitted she’s been turning down social plans with friends to make the most of her remaining time with Moses, she added that in some ways it’s “exciting” because it will be the first time in two decades that she hasn’t. she been “indebted to a school calendar.”

Earlier this month, Gwyneth shared a rare photo with Moses after a fan asked her to post her “favorite” photo with her son.

She looked radiant while wearing no makeup in the selfie as she rested her head on Moses’ shoulder.

The teen looked the spitting image of dad Chris in the snap, as he smiled at the camera while wearing a black knit sweater and tiny hoop earrings.

“Not a favorite but it’s recent,” Gwyneth captioned the photo.

Gwyneth and Chris ended their marriage by ‘consciously separating’ in 2016, but their children remain their greatest achievement.
