Blake Lively revealed the secret of her successful marriage with Ryan Reynolds.
The 36-year-old actress joked that her mother-in-law Tammy Reynolds was the reason they had been together for more than a decade.
“She’s very controlling,” he said jokingly and laughing during an interview with Sun published on Tuesday.
“No, she’s the best. I’m so lucky,” he continued before dropping another playful comment. “The only reason I’m with him is to be with her.”
This comes after the It Ends With Us star shut down divorce speculation with millennial humor.

The long-time couple have been together for 13 years and married for 12.
Tammy, who is a mother of four children including her youngest son Ryan, has attended numerous A-list events with Blake over the years.
Most recently, she was seen present with her son and daughter-in-law at the premiere of the latter’s film It Ends With Us on Tuesday.
And indeed, Blake and Ryan have proven that their marriage has only grown stronger with time, even as they prepare to compete at the box office with competing films.
Ryan’s movie Deadpool & Wolverine was recently released, and the former Gossip Girl actress praised her husband and said how proud she is.
The couple, who have been married since 2012, are parents to James, nine, Inez, seven, Betty, four, and Olin, 17 months.
Ryan also recently opened up about his marriage, saying that the secret to their successful and long-lasting marriage is that they “genuinely support” each other.
Blake added: “My husband calls me his knight in shining armor, which I think is really sweet because we only hear men being like that.”

She also recalled that they came to an agreement when they first started dating.
She explained that they “made a rule of not working at the same time” so they could “prioritize their personal lives.”
And Lively openly displays her affection for her other half in public.
She admitted that she often carries her belongings with her and did so when she was filming her upcoming movie, It Ends With Us.
“I wore a lot of my and my husband’s clothes,” she said of working on the romantic drama, which premieres Friday.
“I thought, ‘Why don’t people like my clothes? Oh, because I’m wearing my husband’s clothes.’ But I thought it was really nice.”
And while promoting Deadpool and Wolverine with Hugh Jackman, Ryan compared the secret to a successful marriage to their enduring 17-year friendship.
“I think the secret ingredient to a lasting friendship in Hollywood is not much different than having a partner or a marriage,” she said.
Ryan also recently opened up about his marriage, saying that the secret to their successful and long-lasting marriage is that they “genuinely” support each other.

In It Ends With Us, based on the novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover, the actress plays a woman named Lily Bloom, who finds herself caught up in a very complicated love triangle.
Speaking about the film, he shared his adoration for his character and the story.
“I hate the word ‘inspiring’ because it makes me feel like it’s an ‘urgh,’ but it is,” she said. “It’s inspiring to see someone experience what they experience and how they come out of it. It was really important to show that Lily didn’t start out where she is at the end.
“We always see the damsel who then finds her voice,” she continued. “But you can have a voice and you can still feel hurt and you can still lose yourself.

She also noted that she has been told to make sure the characters she plays are “likable,” while her husband has never been told to do the same.
‘Every time I make a movie, the first note in the script, in the execution, in the marketing, in the editing, is something like, ‘We have to make sure he’s likable. ‘ And one day I went to my husband and I said, ‘Have you ever gotten a note where they say, ‘We want this guy to be likable’? ‘
“He says, ‘Nobody’s ever said that. ‘ And my husband plays deeply unpleasant characters, but you love him. Women have to be nice. Why?”
It Ends With Us opens in theaters on Friday, August 9.
