A scientist has revealed a far-fetched plan to drag the sun and all its rotating planets for hundreds of light years with the help of a futuristic spaceship.
The so-called Caplan Thruster is a stellar engine that, according to the academician who came up with the idea, can “be made possible in the future by technologically advanced civilizations.”
Dr. Matthew Caplan of Illinois State University devised the device and published it in a real scientific journal.
He says his design could move the sun for 50 light years in just one million years and enable us to prevent supernova or other heavenly explosion destruction.
The steady migration through the cosmos would also allow human beings to colonize different worlds as we pass them.

The vessel would be powered by two nuclear engines, one of which turns the sun’s helium into radioactive oxygen at a billion degrees Celsius (1.8 billion degrees Fahrenheit) to push the star.
Another engine would turn hydrogen into a jet of accelerated particles and fire back at the sun, so the vessel would not fly into the sun’s surface.
By balancing the two rays of energy, the Caplan Thruster would work as a tug for the entire solar system, because moving the sun means that the planet trapped in its orbit, including the Earth, would also migrate.
The technology could see us moving the solar system to another place in our galaxy, or even beyond the Milky Way.
In a video posted on YouTube channel Kurzgesagt – Briefly summarized, the research team reveals that the solar system can be fully redirected in ten million years.
But the concept currently goes far beyond the existing technology.
Because solar flares would not be enough to supply the billion tons of fuel needed per second, a Dyson Sphere should be created.

WHAT ARE ‘DYSON SPHERES’?
A proposed method for utilizing the power of an entire star is known as a Dyson sphere.
First proposed by theoretical physicist Freeman Dyson in 1960, this would be a swarm of satellites surrounding a star.
They can be a closed shell, or spaceships scattered to collect its energy – known as a Dyson swarm.
If such structures exist, they would emit enormous amounts of noticeable infrared radiation back to Earth.
But such a structure has not yet been detected.
Although it is difficult to know what an advanced civilization might look like, one thing that is almost certainly needed is large amounts of energy.
Dark energy, which makes up 68 percent of the universe, causes our universe to expand at an increasingly faster pace.
For an advanced civilization to survive in 100 billion years when the universe is dominated by dark energy, it must harvest stars to feed its enormous energy needs.
One way it could do this is by building giant or Dyson orbs around stars to collect their light and enhance their existence, claims Dan Hooper, a physicist at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
This would then be fed into a single spacecraft with complex reactors and engines to produce two jets of energy.
This capability goes far beyond current methods, with NASA’s most advanced solar mission – the only Parker probe – that costs as much as $ 1.5 billion and only revolves around the sun.
The enormous amount of force created by the two engines would also tear apart existing materials with ease.

Although the sucking of energy and mass from the surface of the sun would result in a longer lifetime of the star, it will eventually die.
