The strange reason why US President-elect Donald Trump did not attend the football game between Penn State and Ohio State before the election has been revealed.
Ahead of the anticipated showdown between the college football giants, it was reported that the then-presidential candidate would attend Beaver Stadium.
The game took place three days before the election, and Pennsylvania was considered one of the must-win swing states.
However, shortly before the game, a Penn State spokesperson told the Center Daily Times that Trump would no longer attend the game.
“The University has been notified that former President Donald Trump will no longer attend the Ohio State-Penn State football game,” the statement said.
Penn State football stopped Donald Trump from buying 110,000 hot dogs against Ohio State
However, in the latest edition of his homonymous programRonan Bell claimed there was another reason behind Trump’s cancellation besides apparent security-related issues.
Bell shared that Trump wanted to buy hot dogs for the 110,000 fans in attendance. Unfortunately, his $770,000 transaction was rejected by Penn State football, according to Bell.
The Lions lost the game, 13-20, to the Buckeyes. Ohio State would then beat Purdue to extend their winning streak to three games and improve their record to 8-1.
On the other hand, Penn State bounced back and defeated Washington to move to an 8-1 record. Their identical records leave both teams tied for third place in the Big 10.
Meanwhile, his absence did not hurt Trump’s chances in the Keystone State, as he won 50.5 percent of the vote in Pennsylvania on his way back to the White House.
