A TikTok video is going viral of a white woman calling the police on two young black men for shoveling snow, claiming they harassed her and showed her no “respect.”
Gregory McAdory said he and his friend own a snow removal business in Rockford, Illinois, where the video was shot.
He claimed that on Feb. 17, after a white winter storm blanketed the area, he and his friend went to a friend’s father’s driveway to clear it.
When they finished the driveway, they moved to the sidewalk in front of a neighbor’s house, which they also began cleaning.
That’s when the neighbor, a relatively old woman, came out and “eavesdropped” on the two young men, demanded they leave and threatened to call the police, which she eventually did.
The short, old woman with an accent told the two young men to stop shoveling snow and to stay off her property
“Are you really mad because we cleaned your sidewalk?” McAdory asked in the video, as the woman clears snow from the packed bank and shovels it back onto the sidewalk.
The woman then says to the young man and his companion, “Don’t enter that line!”
“I don’t need anything from you!” she tells them with an accent.
The two young men keep the interaction going and tell her in disbelief that they are doing something nice for her. The friend continues to shovel the snow.
The woman tells them they are off limits and they tell her it is a public sidewalk.
Finally, she picked up her phone to call the police, to which McAdory said, “They’ll come faster if you say there’s two n*****s here.”
Although it appeared he was recording before the woman took out her phone to call police, McAdory told the Daily beast“If the police get a call for people of my color, I just say, ‘Pick up.'” just to be on the safe side.
You can hear him say that he will put the interaction in the background of the video all over the internet.
Over the phone, the woman told police, “These guys are African American. I don’t get along with them.’
‘They laugh at me. Look, they have no respect!’ she said.
A Rockford Police Department log confirmed that the call was placed at 12:30 a.m. on February 17.
The caller – the woman whose name was omitted – reported disorderly conduct and an “urgent” need for help.
According to the notes, “there’s a (race edited)/M harassing her and she doesn’t want him there.”
Another note said there were ‘2 (breed edited)/(males)’.
“She says they have no respect for her and she wants them to leave,” the note read.
In a second video McAdory uploaded to Tiktok, two Rockford police officers have arrived at the scene and are standing in front of their vehicle.
One of the officers says the woman may be mentally ill.
They go to talk to the woman and tell the men to stay off her property and not to shovel her snow.
The Daily Beast reported that no police report of the incident was made and officers were on the scene for less than 20 minutes.

McAdory said this wasn’t the first time the woman had threatened to call the police.
Apparently, the last time the couple was shoveling the driveway, the woman got upset because they touched her lawn.
McAdory said they thought clearing a path on the sidewalk would show the woman they could be neighbors. He said his friend’s family has known the woman for 15 years.
‘I don’t know what’s wrong with her. I don’t know if it’s racism,” he said. “I just didn’t want to get arrested for something so small.”
