Footage from an upcoming documentary series about an Amazon expedition “from hell” has revealed how one hiker arrived very unprepared – filling his backpack with 50 condoms instead of vital supplies.
In 2012, a man named Mickey Grosman announced that he was going to lead a walk across South America in an attempt to raise money and awareness for cancer research, and he filmed the whole thing in hopes of making a documentary.
Along the way, the group faced a series of terrifying near-death experiences and serious injuries, and came face to face with dangerous wildlife and hostile indigenous tribes, and many began to wonder if they would ever make it out alive.
Footage from the wild exhibition recently fell into the hands of documentary filmmakers Erin Gamble and David Freid, who reviewed more than 700 hours of video and turned it into a docuseries, titled Expedition From Hell: The Lost Tapes, premiering on Max and Discovery this Sunday, May 12 at 10pm EST/PST.

Mickey filmed the whole thing in hopes of making a documentary, and the footage recently fell into the hands of documentary filmmakers Erin Gamble and David Freid.
Now, in an exclusive clip from the first episode obtained by DailyMail.com, one of the videographers on the trip, named Matt, revealed that he had one thing on his mind before the trip: sex.
As the group went through all the items they brought, he admitted that he had packed dozens of condoms in case he encountered any women in the jungle.
Mickey, like some of the other hikers, brutally criticized him for his decision, especially since they had very little room in their bags.
“Matt, he brought condoms,” Mickey said to the camera as he held them up for everyone to see.
‘What are you going to fuck in the jungle? A monkey?’ she asked.
Then, one person in the group jokingly wrapped the string of condoms around Matt like a sash.
When asked why he brought the protection, an embarrassed Matt replied, “For girls.”
‘What girls in the jungle? You’re not taking the condoms, end of story,’ Mickey told him emphatically.
Now they’ve turned it into a docuseries, titled Expedition From Hell: The Lost Tapes, premiering on Max and Discovery this Sunday, May 12 at 10pm EST/PST.

He was brutally roasted by Mickey (seen) and some of the other hikers for his decision, especially since they had very little room in their bags.
Spending weeks in the jungle while having to find your own food, water, shelter and fire leads to “a fascinating series of misfortunes and ineptitudes,” according to the show’s description.

‘This is [not good] for me. “It’s a sad day,” Matt told the camera.
Spending weeks in the jungle while having to find your own food, water, shelter and fire created “a fascinating series of misfortunes and ineptitude that quickly turned what was going to be an already challenging expedition into a near-constant struggle for survival,” according to the program description.

Other parts show various members of the group struggling to stay on foot in the middle of a terrible storm, falling down a steep hill, and even writing in pain as someone held a candle to a blister.
In another clip the group is seen crossing an old rickety bridge, when it suddenly breaks and one of the members begins to crash into the bottom.
No one actually finished the entire 5,000-mile hike except Mickey, or so he says.
