Bitcoin ATMs to Invade Circle K Supermarkets

Bitcoin Depot is playing a physical foot traffic game through a “long-term” crypto ATM partnership with the Circle K supermarket chain.

The crypto ATM company plans to install kiosks in “thousands” of Circle K locations, according to a press release, of which more than 700 already reside in 30 states. CEO Brandon Mintz aims to have 6,000 kiosks in North America by 2021.

“We believe that the Circle K brand has a broad and diverse customer base with people from all walks of life visiting these stores,” Mintz told CoinDesk.

The tie-up comes as the crypto ATM industry continues to grow. Bitcoin Depot’s own statistics indicate that the sector is up 155% year-over-year.

Mintz declined to say how Bitcoin Depot’s existing machines are doing, but said “transaction volumes have continued to grow over the years.”
