The 54-year-old woman from Iowa approached the young bison when the adult attacked her, holding her belt and jeans around the horn.

The animal was then able to run away with her jeans, but knocked her unconscious in the process.
The woman was thrown around like a rag doll before finally hitting the ground, after which the bison returned to its herd.
The woman eventually had to be transported to hospital by air and is said to have sustained serious injuries but is expected to make a full recovery, said KELO.
The incident took place while thousands of motorcyclists were in the Black Hills in the state’s western park for the 2020 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Custer County Sheriff Marty Mechaley warned visitors to keep their distance from bison in the park.
“We want to remind everyone not to pet the fluffy cows – otherwise known as Bison / Buffalo. We’ve had calls about the fluffy cows that occasionally block the road – some people get too close, too.
“Remember this is their park and we are the guests… please give them a break and keep your distance.
