The post comes as the family revealed they struggled to keep Australia Zoo open amid the Covid-19 locks.

In an Animal Planet special, aired in August, titled Crikey! It’s the Irwins: Life in Lockdown, the Irwin family addresses the financial problems the zoo experienced during the pandemic.

In a trailer for the upcoming TV special, Terri Irwin says the zoo’s typical weekly salary totals $ 400,000, which accounts for 52 percent of company income.

“The pandemic has hit the Australian zoo hard financially … I can’t even come close to paying bills. We have to put down staff and it is very emotional, ”says Terri.

In addition, Bindi and Chandler had to waste the money for their honeymoon to keep the zoo operational.

“We originally planned to take a road trip on our honeymoon,” says Bindi, adding that she and Chandler agreed to stay at the zoo instead and take care of their 1,200 animals.
