Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus’ marriage is officially over, three months after the country singer filed for divorce from his Australian wife of less than a year, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
And after an increasingly bitter and public split, during which each accused the other of verbal and emotional abuse, court documents signed Monday and obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com show Firerose walked away with $0.
But according to a source, she’s fine with that. “She wouldn’t settle for anything to end things with him and get away from the situation,” the source told DailyMail.com exclusively.
In most cases, the divorce agreement allows each party to walk away from the brief marriage with what they brought to it in the first place.
Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus’ divorce has been finalized three months after the 62-year-old country star filed for separation.
Court documents filed on Monday and obtained by DailyMail.com reveal that Firerose, who married the singer in October, walked away with $0 in the divorce.
However, the terms of the divorce settlement show that Billy Ray agreed to give up any rights he has to credits or royalties on songs the couple wrote or released together before and during their union.
Billy Ray’s divorce filing on May 22, 2024 came just days before Firerose, 37, was set to undergo a double mastectomy following her BRCA gene diagnosis, which means she is more likely to get certain types of cancer.
During the increasingly contentious divorce, Billy Ray appeared to cast doubt on the veracity of this claim by requesting the production of her medical records.
He has since rescheduled his surgery.
A source said on Monday: “If this were to go to trial, Firerose and his team would have provided a significant amount of evidence to show that he fabricated a narrative that would benefit his public image.
“There is no doubt that she would have been granted a divorce, but it was far more important to her that this ongoing smear campaign ended and the emotional chaos ceased so that she could close the door on this chapter and recover from her surgery in peace.”
Billy Ray saw things differently, claiming that Firerose only married him to get the Cyrus surname. He said that she changed her last name from Hodges (her first husband’s last name) just a couple of weeks ago.
“I feel very relieved,” Billy Ray said in a statement to DailyMail.com.
“This was the craziest, most outlandish scam I’ve ever heard of,” he added. “Not to mention the fact that I’m at the center of it and basically the target of the scheme.”
“It’s a shame that it all ended like this,” he said. “It wasn’t just a web of lies that put me in physical danger, it was a matter of the heart.”
“Love is blind, that’s for sure.”
Last month, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed shocking audio in which Billy Ray can be heard belittling and mocking the Australian singer whom he married in October 2023.
In an expletive-filled speech that was often difficult to listen to, the toxicity of the relationship between the two was laid bare.
During the confrontation, which appeared to have been sparked by the 62-year-old singer’s fury at being late on stage for a show, he warned Firerose: “If you would have left it like that, I’m really pissed off now, proving to you once again that you won’t listen to me.”
“I don’t know who the fuck you think you are, but you won’t listen to me… this has nothing to do with anything, it’s about you being a selfish fucking bitch.”
Billy Ray is excited and scoffs, “I don’t think you’re very smart, I’ve changed my mind about that shit. What I think you are is a selfish fucking bitch. That’s what you are.”

Firerose claims Billy Ray kicked her out of the marital home on May 23, 2024, immediately after filing for divorce.
As she begged him to “please stop yelling,” he replied: “This wouldn’t be happening if you’d just shut your fucking mouth. Look at the fucking mess you’ve made.”
“What an idiot (you are)… because you have to know that I’m not going to tolerate that shit. You just fucked up… fuck you. You know that’s not the case. You fucking idiot.”
Further evidence obtained by DailyMail.com showed the Achy Breaky Heart singer’s venom was not limited to his much younger wife, but extended to several important women in his life.
Among them is his daughter, superstar Miley, whom Billy Ray simply refers to as “devil.”
In another audio heard by DailyMail.com, Billy Ray bizarrely speaks about himself in the third person before turning his attention to his daughter, Miley, and uttering the shocking statement: “Everybody knows the devil’s a bitch.”
He then attacked Miley’s mother, Tish, his wife of 30 years and mother of three of his biological children: Miley, 31, Braison, 30, and Noah, 24, whom he never refers to by name but instead calls “shit.”
Billy Ray has a son from a previous relationship and adopted Tish’s two oldest children, Brandi, 37, and Trace, 35, when they married.
In a shocking text exchange with her manager and publicist Scott Adkins, seen by DailyMail.com, Billy Ray says of Tish: “She’s a liar… a bitch… and a cheater. A complete slut. A scum. A fraud.”
The bitter split comes after a shocking audio recording emerged of Billy Ray mocking and belittling his now ex-wife Firerose, 37, and belittling his own daughter Miley.
She later admitted to unleashing the expletive-filled rant captured on audio in an Instagram post saying: “I was on the verge of a breakdown.”
Comparing her to Lindsay Lohan’s mother, Dina, 61, wrote: “She makes Deanna (sic) Lohan look like Mother Teresa.”
Posting on Instagram a day after his comments and texts were exposed, Billy Ray made no attempt to deny the truth of it all.
Instead, he stood by his words and said, “Of course I was on the edge. As the days went by, I started to realize that something was wrong. And that was before I knew that she (Firerose) was an impostor.”
He went on to make a series of claims about his then-wife.
“I knew something was wrong. That was before I knew she was David Hodge’s ex-wife. That was before I knew her parents’ last name. I had no idea she had been arrested for burglary of a home.
“I saw before my very eyes that everything I thought I knew about her was a lie. She was trying to take over my career, my life and usurp the Cyrus name for her own benefit.”

Billy Ray’s marriage to Firerose, which came just four months after Tish filed for divorce, is believed to have put a strain on his relationship with Miley.
The former child star, who grew up on the Disney Channel alongside her father, snubbed Billy Ray in her Grammy acceptance speech in February.
Billy Ray was still married to Tish when he met Firerose in 2010. The Sydney-born musician, who legally changed her birth name Johanna Scholem, was just 22 and Billy Ray was 48.
The two became friends, but nothing romantic happened until Billy Ray approached Firerose a decade later and asked her to duet with him on a cover of Tanya Tucker’s “Delta Dawn.”
At the time he was still married to Tish, but he told Firerose that they were “soulmates” and promised her an everlasting romance.
Instead, just seven months into their October 2023 marriage, with those words ringing hollow in her ears, Billy Ray filed for divorce in an acrimonious split finalized with the twist of a judge’s pen today.
