Billionaire tech boss shock split with wife just days after his former business partner split with HIS wife
- Mike-Cannon Brookes separates from his wife
Andrew and Nicola Forrest split last week
One of Australia’s richest businessmen has reportedly split from his wife.
Sources close to the family of Mike Cannon-Brookes, co-founder of Atlassian, have confirmed that he is separating from his wife Annie, according to the Australian Financial Review.
Cannon-Brookes, who is worth around $19 billion this year according to the Financial Review Rich List, had married Annie in 2010.
The split follows the high-profile split of Fortescue Metals CEO Andrew Forrest and Nicola Forrest.
The billionaire couple, who have been married for 31 years, said last week that they will now live apart, but insisted it will not affect the direction of their mining empire or their philanthropic interests.

The Australian Financial Review’s annual Rich List for 2023 revealed in May that Cannon-Brookes and his Atlassian business partner Scott Farquhar had lost more than $7bn each since 2022.
Mining magnates Gina Rinehart ($37.41 billion) and Forrest ($33.29 billion) topped the list.
Also in May, Cannon-Brookes prevailed over Forrest in a battle for control of Sun Cable, an ambitious project that promises to transmit solar-generated electricity from the interior of the Northern Territory to Singapore.
The Cannon-Brookes family owns a large portfolio of properties, including the 1.1-hectare Fairwater estate, the home of the late Lady Mary Fairfax, which they purchased in 2018 for $100 million.

Mr. Cannon-Brookes purchased a house (right) next door to his former property to the left in Newport for $14.25 million.
In June, Cannon-Brookes and his wife shelled out $14.25 million to buy a house in Newport, on Sydney’s northern beaches, next door to the $24.5 million property they bought in 2020.
The five-bedroom house is located on a 3,000-square-meter block of land and has a 1,000-square-meter netted bathroom area.
Mr. Cannon-Brookes, who was previously a fashion designer, was born in the United States.
It was previously reported that Mr and Mrs Cannon-Brookes met in a Qantas lounge during a trip between Sydney and San Francisco.
