‘M. Crown was involved in a car accident at Woody Creek Racetrack resulting in fatal injuries,’ the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputy Chief Coroner Audra Keith said an official cause of death was pending an autopsy. However, “multiple blunt trauma is evident” and accidental, she added.

“There has never been a more beautiful human being in every way. He was the head of our family both intellectually and emotionally, and he watched over everyone.

As one of the city’s wealthiest residents, he led the city’s civic committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago.
The tycoon’s family was ranked the 34th richest in America by Forbes in 2020 with an estimated worth of $10.2 billion.
His battle plan aimed to reduce the number of murders in Chicago to less than 400 a year within five years.
Historically, the civic committee has not been involved in matters of public safety,’ Crown told the Chicago Sun Times on Wednesday. “I have to say this with real humility: we’re late for the conversation. We’re late for understanding some of these things.
“You have selflessness,” Crown said. “But you also have the enlightened interest of: I want to be safe, I want my workers to come to work, I want tourists to frequent my business, whatever.”
The civic committee spent six months researching and interviewing, working with city leaders such as former mayor Lori Lightfoot, the former Chicago police superintendent. David Brown, Cook County Sheriff, Tom Dart, and many more.
The strategy the committee focused on included job creation in high-risk areas, substantial funding for violence-response programs, strengthening law enforcement, and investing in disadvantaged communities.
