Billie Eilish has written many songs about love, but one thing she has never experienced is being abandoned.
The Lunch hitmaker, 22, who recently opened up about being cheated on, appears in the latest edition of Interview Magazine where he had a question and answer session with fellow singer Lana Del Rey, 38.
The two touched on several topics, including Billie’s latest hit album, Hit Me Hard And Soft, their bond, and their romantic relationships.
Perhaps the biggest revelation of all, however, is that the Bad Guy singer has never experienced the emotional pain of breaking up with him.
Billie said, “I don’t really like being… I was going to say out of control, but there are ways I like being out of control.” I have a power problem and a control problem, and I also don’t like being vulnerable in a romantic way. It makes me feel uncomfortable and I don’t know how many times I have truly fallen in love.

The 22-year-old singer appeared in the latest issue of Interview magazine, where she had a question and answer session with fellow singer Lana, 38.
“I think there are different versions of love, and I think you can be in love and it may not be deep. I’m not going to go into too much detail, because I’m going to be rude, but I’ve never been abandoned and, furthermore, I’ve never been broken. I’ve just made the break.
Lana insisted to Billie that this could mean the star is simply running away from a relationship.
What was I made for? The singer responded: ‘Sure. And I think when people hear that, he’s like, “Oh, all you do is break hearts.” Sure, but that doesn’t mean people are totally innocent. It means I thought, “Oh, let me get out of here.” Or it means things just weren’t right.
Lana agreed with the fellow musician’s sentiments, saying that when she breaks up with someone it’s usually because “they made me do that.”
Billie continued to insist that ending a relationship takes a considerable mental toll even though it was never broken up.
She explained: ‘Right? That’s what I’m saying. “You did this, bitch.” (laughs) Some of you are about to get really mad at me, but I think breaking up with someone instead of obviously breaking up with someone hurts like hell, especially when you don’t see it coming. and you wanted a future and it has been taken from your hands.
“But honestly, the pain of knowing you have to end something with someone you genuinely love is so horrible.”
Lana reiterated Billie’s point when she said that she believes that carrying out divided tasks actually stays with the person longer.

She also dated Los Angeles-based actor Matthew Tyler Vorce from 2021 to May 2022, and rapper Brandon Q Adams for less than a year starting in late 2018.
Billie and Lana also discussed their single Lunch, which fans have referred to as a “lesbian anthem,” just months after opening up about their sexuality.
Billie was asked if she wonders what people will say about the song, to which she responded, “I’m pretty aware of what people will say.” It’s so strange to grow and change in front of the world.
“The craziest part is finding out things about me and suddenly everyone else knows it, and I don’t have a second to think about how it makes me feel.”
Lana commented on Billie’s latest album as a whole and how the singer has a range of emotions throughout the project, but has always maintained a cool and calm demeanor.
Billie replied: ‘Right? It’s interesting to be a seemingly sensitive non-complainer. A lot of moments on this album are about situations where I thought, “I’d rather be tortured inside but have someone think I’m cool, than have someone think I’m hysterical and actually express my feelings.”
Hit Me Hard And Soft was released on May 17 and is Billie’s third studio album, having worked on all three projects with her brother and frequent collaborator Finneas O’Connell.

Producer Finneas, who has won 10 Grammy Awards, is the youngest artist to win Producer of the Year, Non-Classical category.
Billie and Finneas are together the youngest artists in history to win two Oscars, taking home the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2022 and 2024 for No Time To Die and What Was I Made For? respectively.
