Bill Murray and Rooney Mara were among a group of people temporarily banned from a SAG Awards ballroom at the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday due to fire safety protocols.
Variety co-editor Ramin Setoodeh took to Twitter with a snippet of the ceremony at the venue, where he spun in a packed room filled with celebs and others dressed for the lavish event.
“Total chaos at the SAG Awards as Claire Foy and Rooney Mara are not allowed into the Fairmont Hotel ballroom – they are told to wait for the fire chief to let them and hundreds of other guests in,” Setoodeh said. .
He added, “Even Bill Murray has to wait. This is madness!’
In the clip, Murray, 72, was seen looking around the room, while Foy, 38, and Mara, 37, were talking to others.
On the show, Murray was dressed in a black suit with a multi-colored bow tie. The A-list actor has been nominated for three SAG Awards in the past: in 2016 for A Very Murray Christmas; in 2016, for group awards for The Grand Budapest Hotel; and in 2004 for Lost in Translation.
Foy donned a yellow Prada dress for the procedure, accessorized it with jewelry and a handbag.
Mara was dressed in a black and white Alexander McQueen dress with her brown locks pulled back.

Both Foy and Mara were among the stars nominated for the then honor of Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, for their film Women Talking.
The cast of Everything Everywhere All At Once ended up with the honor.
The schedules were invented at 5 p.m. local time, when the broadcast of the event began streaming, Page six reported, citing social media posts.
A number of Twitter users were unimpressed by the disruption of the stars.
Said one user, “Oh poor things. They just have to wait for people to do their job,” with a rolling face emoji.
Another said, ‘Madness? Real? My god, you’ve had a privileged life. How dare the goddamn marshal follow security protocols… just to make your life difficult.”
One user suggested that organizers “should have booked a larger venue” or made sure “cleared it with the fire chief before inviting “too many attendees,” adding, “or better yet, only invite those people who are nominated for awards and then check the number of seats and then start inviting more.”
