Bill Maher is once again taking on the ‘woke’ left and has identified his biggest problem with the Democratic Party.
The longtime HBO talk show host, stand-up comedian and podcaster has traditionally drawn the ire of conservatives, but now seems to be inspiring hatred and outrage from liberals just as often.
This weekend he revealed the main reason why he now goes after woke liberals more often: ‘You give me more material. I’m a comedian. I’m going to where the gold is.’
He then said this ties back to what he has come to hate about left-wing Democrats lately.
‘They can’t stand it if they hear something they don’t agree with for even a moment. Not that the right doesn’t do it too, but the left does it worse,” he said.
He called progressives like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez “a little bit out there” and Ilhan Omar “not my favorite.”
Maher expressed his admiration for Seth Moulton, who was recently criticized by the party for questioning why they supported transgender people in youth sports.
“Everything with these people should be an opportunity for virtue signaling,” he said of those who called Moulton everything from a transphobe to a Nazi collaborator.

Maher adds that some Democrats broke off their friendship with him because conservatives like Ann Coulter, Bill Barr and Ted Cruz were on the show.
“Think about what this is: These are people who hate me and whom I will not hate. People who hate me for who I won’t hate,” he said.
He then continued a point he’s been making lately on his podcast: that liberals disavow people who disagree with them out of a desire to appear nice.
‘It’s in their psychological profile, they just need virtue signaling, and for their friends – and I think everyone on social media – to see them as the good people. ‘We are the good people. We know who is good. And it is us,” he told the newspaper Wall Street Journal.
Maher also criticized the younger generation, saying they have ‘no prospects’ because they go to so-called woke colleges, which he calls ‘a***** factories’.
“They have been indoctrinated into thinking that they are living in the worst country in the world at the worst time in history, when in reality, with all our flaws, they are probably still living in the best, having absolutely indisputably the best time in the world.” history. he said.
He even has some optimism about Trump’s second term, saying he has hired “people I like” to reform Washington.
‘It’s like a Marvel movie. This gang is coming to shake things up. As a viewer I am curious what this is. It’s not that America doesn’t need to be shaken up. “We are a sclerotic, congested country, and things are slowly getting worse,” he said.

Maher, who has had Elon Musk on the show, says he loves “some of the things” Musk has said he will do as part of the Department of Government Efficiency.
‘What (America) needs is “a colony. Would Trump be the man I first chose to run the government? No, but I would like to see what he and Elon Musk will do.”
However, he poured cold water on the idea that he would ever switch parties.
“A lot of Republicans are saying, ‘Maybe we can get Bill Maher.’ No, that’s not possible. What you can get is Bill Maher being honest about the left. “I’m not going to join your team that doesn’t believe in democracy,” he said.
However, he acknowledged that this election was decided by people who don’t like Trump, “but they just think the crazies on the left are somehow worse.” I don’t agree with them, but I understand. I don’t hate them for voting for him.’
But he has a simple message for Kamala Harris: ‘You lost a crazy match to a real crazy person. Congratulations.’
Just days before the election, Maher called Trump a “mad king” and gestured that he would vote for Kamala Harris despite not supporting all of her policies, Newsweek reported.
Yet he also mocked the Democratic Party over social issues and pushed for platform reforms, telling the party to “stop yelling at people to join the program, and instead create a program that is worth the effort.” worth achieving’.

Maher came under fire from Democrats in May this year after they claimed the comedian’s rhetoric towards them had changed, but he said it was actually the left that had changed.
During a sit-down interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, Maher defended his position on the issues he sees with the Democratic Party, as well as his heavily criticized opposition to the nationwide pro-Palestinian protests at universities.
He admitted that the left and right had undergone a transformation, but that the Republican Party is “even worse” than the Democrats.
‘I mean, the right no longer believes in democracy. I mean, they’ve aligned themselves with a sociopath named Donald Trump, who thinks the only time elections count is if we win,” Maher said in reference to the former president’s baseless claims of fraud in the 2020 election.
“But it’s not like the left hasn’t changed either,” he continued. “So I’m going to call it out when I see it.”
Maher then listed the issues he encountered around gender, race, freedom of speech, communism, border security and police abolition efforts, The Hill reported.
“No, it’s not that I’ve gotten old, it’s that your ideas are stupid,” he said.
He further explained that the younger generation believes their new ideas are better, but “new” is not always synonymous with “better.”
