Bill Maher could barely contain himself as he roasted Donald Trump’s controversial cabinet picks and wondered, “Should I really write jokes about this?”

The comedian joked that the jokes write themselves as he sifted through nominees, including Matt Gaetz and Pete Hegseth, and ended his monologue with a chuckle as he named WWE wrestling manager Linda McMahon as Secretary of Education,

“The Republicans, man, when they grab power, they grab it by the p***y,” he began. “They don’t mess around.

‘They’re not even in charge yet, they just won the election. There are already major changes in the House of Representatives.’

Maher noted that Gaetz dropped out as Trump’s nominee for attorney general amid controversy over a child sex trafficking investigation — in which he was not charged — and said Republicans decided he was “too despicable, even for us.”

The host also referenced a bill introduced this week by Congresswoman Nancy Mace to ban incoming representatives. Sarah McBride, the first openly transgender member of the House of Representatives, is no longer allowed to use the public women’s restrooms in the Capitol.

“Yes, thank God the adults are in charge again,” he said in response.

Maher then made fun of South Carolina Sen. Linsday Graham’s sexuality, joking that after the bill was introduced, Graham “volunteered to check for dicks.”

The comedian continued his story about Graham’s sexuality when he brought up Gaetz’s replacement as attorney general candidate, former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

When asked about his reaction to Bondi’s announcement, Graham said this week that she would be a “grand slam, touchdown, hole in one, ace, hat trick, slam dunk, Olympic gold medal.”

In his monologue on Friday night, Maher added, “Yes, because nothing says ‘I’m straight’ like overcompensating with a sports metaphor.”

Graham, a lifelong bachelor, has in the past flatly denied rumors that he is gay.

“To the extent that it matters, I’m not gay,” Graham said in October, in response to a tweet from comedian Chelsea Handler suggesting he was gay.

“Then there’s Pete Hegseth from Fox & Friends, who has been nominated to be Secretary of Defense,” Maher continued.

“He was accused – again, just accused – of having, she says, non-consensual sexual relations, he says, consensual. So again: we don’t know. You weren’t there. I wasn’t there. We don’t know.

“But it does beg the question: Has anyone ever had sex with someone from Fox News and liked it?”

Concluding his remarks, Maher said: “I’m not saying this crew won’t be good at their job, but they will be the first Cabinet to be asked to stay 150 meters away from a school.

“You know that useless sexual harassment seminar we all have to do at work? Finally we found an office that needs it.’

While mentioning McMahon’s name as the new Secretary of Education, Maher burst out laughing as he said, “Do I really have to write jokes about this?”
