Former President Bill Clinton has denied ever traveling to Jeffrey Epstein’s private island and claims to have had only two meetings with the convicted pedophile.
In his new book Citizen, to be published next week, Clinton, now 78, described his interactions with the convicted pedophile.
The extracts, first reported by The US SunThey show him admitting that he had flown on Esptein’s private jet, the Lolita Express, in 2002 and 2003.
Clinton claims in her memoirs that Epstein, who died in 2019, had offered the plane in support of Clinton’s foundation and that they talked about economics and politics.
He also strongly denied dismissed allegations that he had ever visited Little Saint James, a private island in the US Virgin Islands owned by Epstein.
Clinton also said the two had only brief meetings, one in her Harlem office and another at Epstein’s New York home.
The former president wrote: “I always thought Epstein was strange, but I had no idea what crimes he was committing.
‘He hurt a lot of people, but I didn’t know anything about it, and when he was first arrested in 2005, I had stopped having contact with him. I have never visited your island.
In his new book Citizen, to be published next week, Clinton, now 78, described his interactions with the convicted pedophile.
Clinton claims in her memoirs that Epstein, seen here with associate Ghislaine Maxwell, had offered the plane in support of her foundation.
Clinton explained that traveling aboard Epstein’s plane was not worth the years of speculation and questioning that accompanied it.
He wrote: ‘The bottom line is that, although it allowed me to visit my foundation’s work, traveling on Epstein’s plane was not worth the years of questioning that followed. I wish I had never met him.
In January of this year, explosive court documents claimed that Clinton “liked young people.”
Details about the testimony of Johanna Sjoberg, who when she was 20 years old was hired to work as a masseuse, became known after the adoption of a sentence.
Sjoberg told lawyers in 2016 that Epstein told him that “Clinton likes young women, meaning girls.”
Clinton has long faced questions about her partner with Epstein, who took his own life while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking of minors.
She had invited him to the White House, and the financier visited her at least 17 times between 1993 and 1995, according to records obtained by DailyMail.com.
Epstein’s ex-girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, was a guest at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in July 2010.
Maxwell was sentenced in June 2022 to 20 years in prison for conspiring with Epstein to sexually abuse minors.
