Bill and Hillary Clinton, along with former Vice President Mike Pence, were booed by President Donald Trump’s MAGA crowd that gathered inside Capital One Arena on Monday.

Hillary Clinton, Trump’s Democratic rival in 2016, was met with chants of “lock her up.”

Trump supporters called Pence, Trump’s former vice president, a “traitor.”

Because of the bitter cold (it was around the 1920s when Trump was sworn in), the inauguration was moved indoors for the first time in 40 years.

That meant the thousands of Trump supporters who would have watched the inauguration from the National Mall were relocated to Capital One Arena, where the Washington Capitals and Wizards play.

While the Clintons and Pence were greeted with applause by those who got a seat in the Capitol Rotunda (VIPs like Tim Cook, Dana White and Tucker Carlson), the more rebellious MAGA crowd let their feelings fly.

Pence and Trump had a falling out over the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, and Trump didn’t call off the assault for hours.

Pence came under attack for his refusal to overturn the 2020 election, with the crowd raising pitchforks and chanting “hang Mike Pence.”

He was replaced in the 2024 presidential bid by Ohio Senator JD Vance.

Pence mounted his own presidential bid against Trump, but dropped out even before the Iowa caucuses due to low poll numbers.

Trump and Pence came face to face earlier this month at President Jimmy Carter’s funeral.

As the former vice president stood and shook Trump’s hand, following the example of former Vice President Al Gore, Karen Pence disparaged both Trumps.

She stayed seated and looked forward as Melania and then Donald walked towards the bench.

Karen Pence did not attend Monday’s inauguration.

Former first lady Michelle Obama also decided not to attend.

She also didn’t show up at Carter’s funeral.

A spokesperson did not reveal why Michelle did not attend Trump’s second inauguration, but at Carter’s funeral she blamed a “scheduling conflict” and said she remained in Hawaii.

Michelle Obama celebrated her 61st birthday on Friday.

Obama also received boos from the Capital One Arena audience when he appeared alone for the swearing-in.

Trump will head to Capital One Arena after the inaugural luncheon to greet supporters and watch the parade from there.

He will later attend three official inaugural balls.
