Ron DeSantis has been ridiculed online for his attempt to launch his presidential campaign on Twitter, with technical failures preventing discussion with Elon Musk.
The launch was scheduled to take place Wednesday at 6 p.m. EST.
Still, Twitter was unable to keep up with the traffic, and servers crashed several times.
The event was initially delayed by several minutes, and when it started, the audio cut out frequently.
Moderator David Sacks said so many people were trying to listen that it was “melting the internet”.
By 6:30 p.m., the sound was muted and DeSantis had yet to say a word.
The internet erupted in mockery.
