The ship will measure more than 1,000 feet, making it considerably longer than the 882.75-foot Titanic.

“For a life without limits,” promise the creators of the superyacht “Ulyssia,” a 320-meter-long ship, larger than the Titanic, which according to its owners “will transform our concept of discovery and home.”

The Ulyssia is still four years away from its planned completion date, but new images offer an unprecedented glimpse of luxury life on board, including 132 plush apartments said to “meet the standards of a five-star hotel,” a theater, a library, several swimming pools and large underwater panoramic windows.

Although it is not yet known exactly how much a stay on board will cost, details have already begun to emerge about the lifestyle that passengers will be able to enjoy. Beyond the essential amenities (restaurants, medical centre, XXL wine cellar), residents will also be able to bring the comfort of their home on board, customising their rooms to their liking.

Residents who want to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life are expected to take out a 50-year lease to stay on the ship in rooms ranging from 112 to 1,000 square meters. Those who still have life on land will have access to two helicopters on board to ferry guests back and forth.

The mega yacht is owned by Swiss company Ulyssia Residence AG and is the brainchild of Espen Øino, a veteran Norwegian yacht designer based in Monaco with experience designing elegant yachts with bespoke touches for the world’s richest people.

The superyacht bills itself as a base of operations for some of the world’s luckiest people, a place to rest and relax after a busy day of adventuring through foreign wonders.

Alain Gruber, CEO of Ulyssia Residences AG, said: ‘The concept behind Ulyssia is to travel the world, but from your own home.

‘Every day you can go out and discover new destinations around the world, but at night you can return to your family in your own four walls.’

The homes on board will be offered in one to six bedroom configurations and will include open kitchens, terraces and reception areas with all the comforts of the modern home.

Residents can also accommodate their guests in one of 22 slightly smaller guest apartments, which also offer space for professors and experts to stay when they visit, according to International SHIPa guide for superyacht enthusiasts.

FM Architetture and eight other top designers were tasked with tailoring the interiors to the individual tastes of the residents.

The firm has an impressive portfolio of work on ships, houses, towers and hotels in a range of classic and contemporary styles.

To meet everyone’s needs, the yacht will feature a range of permanent entertainment, including a two-level theatre, a library and several conference rooms.

The restaurants will welcome “world-famous chefs but also emerging chefs”, while residents will also have access to a grocery store with “local produce from the docks” if they fancy a bit of tranquillity.

Beyond practical use, it is promised that the helicopters can also be used to “facilitate epic adventures” such as heli-skiing.

“All residents have one thing in common: they want to travel, they are curious and adventurous,” Gruber said.

‘But after that, they split into these subgroups.

‘You’ve got your foodies, you’ve got your divers, you’ve got your sailors, you’ve got your art collectors, people who are interested in reading and book clubs – all of those subcommittees will start to form on board and create a real sense of community.’

For added longevity, the yacht will run on methanol and other biofuels, according to Imageensuring that it can continue to sail for decades without being too harmful to the environment.

Solar panels will also help harness natural resources to reduce emissions on this ship of the future.

The property will be shared freehold, with residents owning the boat in perpetuity and in proportion to the square footage they own, BOAT International reports.
