Celebrity Big Brother star Gary Goldsmith believes his niece Kate Middleton will definitely return to public duties at Easter and reveals his shock she edited Mother's Day snap

Gary Goldsmith has said he believes his niece Kate Middleton will definitely return to public duties at Easter.

Following abdominal surgery, Kate has stayed out of the public eye for two months while she recovers.

It comes as royal insiders claim the Princess of Wales, 42, is recovering well and will be back before Easter.

Gary appeared on Thursday’s GB News with Nigel Farage after his short stint on Celebrity Big Brother, where he chatted about his family.

He said of Kate’s recent health problems: ‘I think she has the best support on the planet, she has the best people looking after her.

“They (The Palace} said we would see her at Easter and nothing has changed since then! They have been very transparent.”

He added that he was shocked when Kate revealed that she had in fact edited the Mother’s Day photo of her with her three children.

Gary said: ‘I said when it came out the picture ‘there’s not a chance in hell she photoshopped them herself’ and then it turned out she did!’

Kate publicly took the blame for the family photo released by Kensington Palace on Sunday when she issued an apology for the “confusion”.

It followed a public explosion of conspiracy theories after six of the world’s leading image agencies, including the Press Association, then sensationally pulled the image from their wires and libraries amid concerns that ‘the source has tampered with the image’.

Gary also spoke on GB News about his experience in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

He said: ‘I wanted to change perceptions. I’m not really a celebrity. Looking back, I looked uncomfortable the first few days in the house, but it’s all down to an edit.

‘But it was the best thing I ever did. It was a sneak peak at celebrity life. They were hoping I would win that vote and not get kicked out!’

Gary spilled royal secrets in the Big Brother house which has ‘angered’ his family as his niece Kate recovers from stomach surgery.

Despite leaving some viewers in tears at his behaviour, Gary insisted in his exit interview that he ‘achieved his agenda’ while living in the house.

In his first interview on Late & Live, he said: ‘I’ve had the best time, I went in with one agenda and I’ve achieved it in five days.

‘I don’t consider myself a celebrity, I just happen to be related to someone who is a huge celebrity.’

When host AJ Odudu asked who Kate would like to win now that he has left the house, he replied: ‘Levi Roots, I have so much respect for him and if he were to win, he will use it for good.’

Will asked again, ‘And do you think Kate would agree?’

Gary replied ‘100% she puts other people first’

During Friday’s episode, Gary shocked his housemates by showing an emotional side while branding himself a ‘national villain’.

Gary said he has not had “real peace” after he admitted assaulting his wife.

During a task where housemates are transported to a heavenly haven, Fern Britton asks Gary if he had ‘found peace within’.

He replied saying, ‘I believe that peace is something to always strive for. I thought I had a really cool life until something hits you.

‘One day I was Gary, a businessman laughing with a great family. And then the next moment I’m a national villain.

‘So I don’t really know what true peace is to be honest.’

Kate’s mother’s brother, Carole Middleton, was fined £5,000 and given a community order in November 2017 after pleading guilty to a single charge of assault by beating.

His wife accused him of taking drugs, the court was told, and a London taxi driver saw her knocked to the ground outside their home.

Gary’s inclusion in the program was criticized by Women’s Aid, who said that “the inclusion of men convicted of assault in entertainment programs will already be a sign that these crimes are not taken seriously”, and the charity advised the program to consider his appearance.

In a statement from the show, he previously said: ‘I’m not perfect and I made a mistake, a personal altercation seven years ago that was publicly revealed that I’ve worked endlessly for seven years to rectify.

‘The offense is long spent, but my regret continues.’

ITV has reportedly been forced to ‘carefully edit’ Gary’s Kate and King Charles remarks on Celebrity Big Brother.

Jennie Bond told the mirror. “Anything Gary says about the Royal Family is a headline, it’s great for the show, it’s publicity for ITV.

“And yet they must be aware that they have a duty to protect and protect the health of the person, not to say the royal family openly.

‘So I imagine they have lawyers looking through it, but yes, there will be some careful editing. I think the slightest clue that they can give about anything that goes on in the royal family – with the Harry situation, Catherine’s health or the king’s health, they will do their best to show.’

Gary, who made his money in recruitment and was once worth £30m, is believed to have been kept at arm’s length by the Middletons in recent years.

This is despite him attending William and Kate’s wedding in London in 2011 and then Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton to James Matthews in Berkshire six years later.

Gary regularly speaks out in support of Kate, who is believed to call him ‘Uncle G’, and has previously hailed her as ‘the most spectacular person I’ve ever met’.

Kate’s mum had harsh words for her brother before he entered the Big Brother house, amid fears he could reveal secrets about the royal family.

An insider told The Sun: ‘Gary said he has been read the riot act by Kate’s mum Carole and her dad Michael. They are not happy about him entering Celebrity Big Brother. It’s annoying to them. Kate doesn’t need this stress.’

During Monday’s explosive launch episode, as Gary prepared to enter the house, host AJ Odudu wasted no time asking him if his royal niece would tune in. Gary joked: ‘She’ll hide behind the sofa if she watches’.
