I was celebrated for these qualities, it became my entire personality. I’d even have strangers come up to me and say, “I heard you’re having a great time in the p**s.”

“Honestly, it got to a point where I felt like this was all he was known for…I didn’t even know if I knew who he was without the alcohol.”

Jules said drinking was part of the culture growing up in Perth, which she describes as a “party seaside town”.

She said the lifestyle “normalized” heavy drinking, including partying midweek followed by “drinking all weekend.”

Jules said her alcohol intake typically consisted of up to two pints of cider at dinner on weekdays.
