Big Brother fans are in luck as they finally got a sneak peek of the iconic new Diary Room chair ahead of the reality show’s return on Sunday.

As a new group of housemates wait to move in this weekend for the original social experiment, the country’s most iconic house has undergone a very colorful renovation – and the chair is no different.

Possibly one of the most important rooms, it is where the new contestants will sit while they open their hearts to Big Brother.

For the show’s second broadcast on ITV2, the chair has had a major makeover and has taken on a very vibrant new look to match the rest of the house.

It looks like it has been soaked in paint, following a rainbow color scheme of yellow, pink, orange, red and blue.

The revamped seat also took on a new shape, making it look almost like a throne, which is a look Big Brother fans have yet to see on ITV.

It features a soft blue seat and the paint splatter extends dramatically to the floor to be this year’s furniture piece.

Last year’s Big Brother chair was shaped like an eye and featured an orange seat and red and blue accents.

Strips of neon lights could be seen running across the top as it rested on a circular pedestal below.

And when Celebrity Big Brother came along, the only major difference was a touch of sparkle from a strip of pink neon lights and the addition of a star, an ode to the celebrity-themed logo.

As usual, the Diary Room will see the housemates communicate directly with Big Brother, discussing the latest shenanigans taking over the house, nominations for their fellow contestants and more.

As well as introducing the new chair, ITV has today announced who will take turns taking on the role of Celebrity House Guest on Late and Live.

David Potts, Oti Mabuse, Harriet Rose, Danny Beard, Tyler West and Zeze Millz will appear on a rotating basis, promising fun discussions and deliberations alongside a star-studded panel of other celebrity guests.

Dean McCullough also returns with a weekly roundup of memes and social media moments that the Big Brother fandom is passionate about.

Hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, Late and Live remains the only place to watch the housemates’ first live interview following their eviction, plus a host of exclusive, must-see features.

It comes after the channel published the first images of the rest of the house.

Featuring a bold, psychedelic color scheme, a luxurious kitchen and a jacuzzi, photos show the renovated interior.

Contestants will encounter a neon orange and yellow staircase with giant paint splatters as they take their first steps inside.

Meanwhile, the new living room follows a bright orange and red theme, with a huge yellow sofa where all the new housemates will be gossiping about this weekend.

The bathroom has also undergone a transformation with the old blue sea theme replaced by deep green and hot pinks, with a circular bathtub.

Elsewhere, the kitchen features the same design, with a huge breakfast bar in the centre, but the old white brick has been covered in blue tiles and a matching circular bar now sits in the middle, with gold accents.

And although the house is ready to go, it looks like the show could be set for a chaotic opening, as both hosts suffered ailments ahead of the launch show on Sunday night.

AJ Odudu and Will Best took the reins of the hit reality show with its ITV2 revival last year and are preparing to welcome a new generation of housemates for the third time.

However, appearing on Capital Breakfast on Thursday, Will, 39, revealed that both he and AJ, 36, are suffering from individual illnesses which could spell trouble for the live launch show.

He explained that he suffered “neck stiffness”, meaning he has difficulty moving his head, and was forced to visit an emergency physiotherapist.

Speaking to hosts Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby, Will explained: ‘Yes, I have a stiff neck. It’s a little better today, yesterday was bad, I have an emergency physio in a couple of hours after this.

Poking fun at the inconvenient timing, he added: “It’s always nice right before the biggest show of the year, when you’re going to be live for six weeks, doing all kinds of crazy stuff, not being able to move.

‘So I’m sorry Chris, I can’t really look at you (laughs), you’re on the wrong side!’

Sian then joked: “That’s why we got you a swivel chair, so you can move your whole body,” prompting Will to reply: “I can perform the live show in one of these!”

However, he added that he couldn’t even lean on his co-host for support as AJ “lost his voice.”

Will said: ‘AJ lost her voice too, yeah sorry, saw her yesterday, we recorded a podcast.’ That’s why he’s not going to do radio today!’

He admitted he was “nervous” about the live launch, but insisted it was because of his love for the show and his desire to make sure everything went well.

He explained: ‘Yes, of course I get nervous, because I love this show so much, so I’m nervous that we’re going to do it justice, about the format, I’m nervous about how the housemates will do.

‘But once we get to Sunday, just before we start working, the nerves disappear. “I can’t wait to meet these people.”

Big Brother returns on Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
