This is the precious photo of Big Brother contestant Ali and her beloved late brother Michael, who lost his life to suicide just before Christmas 2022.
The forensic psychologist, 38, from Leicester, admitted her life was mired in sadness until she made the decision to live to the fullest this year when she spoke about her grief over his death with her housemate Martha, 26, on Tuesday.
Ali told Martha that her brother had suffered all his life.
She said: ‘My brother was very unwell in his life, with similar mental health problems and he was on the autistic spectrum and had ADHD.
“I think since he died, I mean, my sister and I, as well as my family, worked very hard to understand him and support him anyway.”

The forensic psychologist, 38, from Leicester, admitted her life was mired in sadness until she made the decision to live to the fullest this year.
She continued: ‘Since he died there has almost been an added pressure to make sense of things and understand them.
After Martha asked how he died, Ali added, “He took his own life.” It is important to talk about these things.
‘Last year I lived in a fog of sadness, only this year I was like fuck. I’m going to do everything I can in my life.’
On an online tribute page for his brother to raise money for the Samaritans and Shelter charities, to which his brother also donated, his family wrote: “This site is a tribute to Mike/Doug, who was born in Leicester on the 24th November 1987.
“He is much loved and will always be remembered. Mike sadly left us on 10/12/2022.
‘He struggled for a long time to find balance, security and connection. This was a fight he could no longer continue.
‘Mike was deeply spiritual and in recent years came to see death as something beautiful; a means to reconnect the soul with the universe in a way that brought peace.
‘Mike fostered very intense bonds with his friends. People were very special to him. Even when he was in contact with friends less frequently, he spoke of those he had met with affection and great admiration.’

They added: “This means that if you were ever important to Mike, you will still be important to Mike many years later.”
‘Losing someone to suicide raises many questions, along with feelings of doubt, worry and guilt. Rest assured, Mike was very open about the people he loved.
‘He appreciated everyone. Unfortunately, Mike was so worried that it meant he couldn’t find peace in this life, and he desperately wanted it. He is at peace now.
‘Mike was a generous soul. He felt desperately upset when he saw others in trouble and donated generously to charities even when he was the one who needed help.
‘The charities on this site are those to which Mike regularly donated to himself and were a topic in his conversations up until the days before his death.
‘His hope was that everyone could have a safe place to call home and someone to talk to when they were suffering. Therefore, he regularly supported the Samaritans and Shelter.
They concluded: “We will always love Mike and wish everyone who knew him the love and peace that he wished for others and that we wished for him.”
So far the page has raised £5,580.20 for charities.

‘I can be quite direct. And it doesn’t always turn out well; That could very well get me nominated. I also suspect that people may be a little suspicious of me because I am a psychologist.”
Talking about his strategy for winning, he revealed: “The main way to stay safe seems to be to not get internal votes so as not to be subject to eviction in the first place.” Hopefully we can get people on our side and like us.”
