Republican Gov. Chris Sununu predicts that President Joe Biden’s $167 billion student loan forgiveness plan will actually backfire on him.
Just this week, Biden canceled another $7.7 billion for 160,000 Americans, in an initiative that critics see as an attempt to “buy votes” before the 2024 elections.
But Sununu told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview this week that no debt is actually being eliminated.
‘We just transferred it to someone else. Someone still owes that debt… and it still needs to be paid by all of America.’
‘The political benefit Biden thinks he is getting from this is quite the opposite. “He is harming him politically,” Sununu continued.
Sununu tells DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview this week that no debt is actually being eliminated.
He says the “proof” is in Biden’s lagging poll numbers compared to Trump.
A series of recent polls have shown Trump tied or ahead of Biden in swing states he won in 2020. And according to a New York Times poll this month, Biden trails Trump in five of six crucial states in the battlefield.
Sununu says that “the average American completely understands what’s going on” and that it is “inherently unfair” that their taxpayer money is paying for an opportunity for someone else’s child.
“It’s the antithesis of everything we do here in America, which is work hard, be fair, you know, pull yourself up by your bootstraps and move forward.”
“They are really angry with what Biden is doing and they are reaching out to Trump. There’s no doubt about it,’ Sununu said.
He says Biden’s “26-year-old progressive socialist advisors” who are “very politically passionate” but “have no idea what’s really happening in America with inflation” are to blame.
‘Biden is going to come out and add gasoline to that fire. And then bragging about it’ will cost him the election, Sununu tells DailyMail.com.
“This fair aspect of inherent injustice will undoubtedly cost Biden many more votes.”
Sununu spoke at the Reagan Institute Education Summit in Washington, DC, on Thursday.
He told DailyMail.com that the biggest threat to education today is the “old school mentality” that all children should attend a traditional four-year university.

But there are now tons of educational opportunities in community colleges, vocational schools, the military and more, not just through the traditional university system.
The governor says leaders must look to where “we need to be in 2035,” not just 2024.
This is because education consumers have a “different mindset and a different expectation about what they want to see in terms of return on investment in education.”
Earlier in the summit, he revealed that almost all of the 50 governors get along… except ‘moron’ Gavin Newsom, who ‘nobody cares about’, and ‘complete idiot’ former Governor Andrew Cuomo.
“Look, almost all the governors get along,” he said. “In my eight years, there’s actually been maybe only two, maybe a third, but two governors that nobody really likes and nobody particularly cares about.”
When asked which governors disagree with the rest, he replied: ‘Andrew Cuomo… complete idiot, no one likes him,’ prompting laughter.
And I have to be honest. Nobody cares about Gavin (Newsom). “Gavin is just an idiot, excuse me,” he continued.
‘He just is. He is really disappointing. We all got along for a while, but even Democrats — they won’t tell you this out loud — but behind closed doors they say, ‘Oh God, look who’s coming.’
“Everyone’s rolling their eyes because… I’m sure that’s going to hit social media, who cares,” he joked.
And I have to be honest. Nobody cares about Gavin (Newsom). “Gavin is just an idiot, excuse me,” Sununu said.
“They are really angry with what Biden is doing and they are reaching out to Trump. There’s no doubt about that,” Sununu said.
He went on to say that he gets along well with other Democrats despite their very different policies, including New Jersey’s Phil Murphy and Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek.
A spokesperson for former Governor Cuomo responded in a statement to DailyMail.com: “It’s nice to see that they both feel the same way about each other.”
