Biden campaign calls Trump’s drug testing request ‘dumb’

Donald Trump has suggested that Biden take a drug test before Thursday night’s debate and has offered to take one himself.

Biden campaign spokesperson Adrienne Elrod was asked on CNN to respond. She said:

I mean, I don’t even know what to say about it. I worked on Hillary Clinton’s campaign. He had also debated with him very effectively. He accused her of being on drugs. President Biden defeated Donald Trump twice in previous debates.

This is what he does because he has nothing else to run on. And that’s why he has to resort to these kinds of tactics that, frankly, are foolish and turn off a lot of voters, especially voters who want to see their president fight for them.

All eyes are on the Supreme Court this morning, as the justices still have 14 cases to decide.

The most closely watched cases include: whether former President Trump has immunity, the defendants’ Jan. 6 obstruction of justice charges (which will also affect Trump’s case), social media and abortion.

Republicans swear in one more member, giving a buffer to their slim majority

On Tuesday night, Republicans swore in Rep. Michael Rulli, R-Ohio, bringing the total number of members to 432: 219 Republicans and 213 Democrats.

Rulli replaced outgoing Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Ohio.

There are three vacancies: The late Rep. Donald Payne Jr., D-N.J., has died. Former Reps. Ken Buck, R-Colo., and Mike Gallagher, R-Wis., resigned.

Republicans can lose two of their own votes and still pass partisan legislation.

FEC grants 45-day extension for Trump to file financial returns

Donald Trump was granted a 45-day extension to file personal financial statements with the Federal Election Commission.

Trump’s legal team requested additional time due to the former president and presumptive 2024 Republican nominee’s complex finances.

“The Federal Election Commission must receive a hard copy of the report with Mr. Trump’s original signature by August 15, 2024.”

Trump’s financial closings are closely watched because they provide insight into his personal wealth, which is often a topic of debate.

The extension comes after Trump was hit with a $300 million civil fraud fine and an $80 million judgment against E. Jean Carroll.

Featuring an image of his mugshot from his Georgia election interference case, the five DNC signs read: ‘Donald. Welcome to Atlanta for the first time since he was convicted of a felony. Congratulations… or whatever…’

Trump was convicted of 34 felonies in the Manhattan hush money trial, but still faces three other criminal trials, including in Fulton County, Georgia.

“The man Georgia voters rejected in 2020 has only grown more unhinged and vengeful over the past four years.”

Trump has suggested his rival will be “very excited” and hinted he might even do cocaine ahead of their primetime showdown on CNN.

Johnson appeared on the network Tuesday night and was asked about the former president’s comments.

‘Look, there are many things that are said in jest. Of course, no one expects Joe Biden to do cocaine.”

Johnson said questions about Joe’s ability to lead are justified and that his energy levels are cause for concern.

Biden ‘can’t hit a golf ball 10 yards,’ Trump says

Donald Trump is attacking his debate opponent on Truth Social. He writes:

Corrupt Joe Biden’s “handlers” are complaining loudly and profusely that there will be no fact checkers during Thursday’s debate. In reality, that is simply MISINFORMATION. They couldn’t be happier, because there is no one who is as relaxed about the TRUTH as Crooked Joe.

He accuses Biden of being a “walking LIE MACHINE and a fact-checker’s DREAM.”

The Republican candidate adds:

From the 51 fake intelligence agents to Russia, Russia, Russia, to the fake “History of Fools and Losers” he created about our beloved military, to cheating in college and claiming to be first in his college class. of Law when he was actually LAST, to claiming that he marched for civil rights, drove trucks, and has a 6.2 handicap (he can’t hit the golf ball 10 yards, but that’s a minor detail!)… Such Maybe we should call him “Liar Joe” besides crooked?

‘I have always put democracy and our Constitution above all of us. It is because of my unwavering support for democracy that today, as a proud conservative, I support Joe Biden for re-election.

The Illinois lawmaker, a frequent CNN guest, admitted he never thought he would vote Democratic.
