Biden’s appearance at the 5,000-person dinner in Detroit capped two days of travel dedicated to reaching Black voters in two key states: Georgia and Michigan.
Previously, Biden was the keynote speaker at Morehouse College in Atlanta and also criticized Trump for his racial record there, noting how he called the January 6 rioters occupying Confederate floors “patriots” and noting how they beat police officers and black veterans that day. day. .

In Michigan, before a crowd of about 5,000, the president told the group that he told the Morehouse graduates that “I saw you, I heard you, the nation needs you, you are the future of this country.”
He credited voters of color for electing him and predicted they would do so again.
“You are the reason Donald Trump is the defeated former president,” Biden said.
“You are the reason why Donald Trump will be the loser again,” the president added to applause.
He again used language that Trump “broke” after being defeated in the 2020 election and was left “unhinged.”

“This guy is a different breed of cat, not your typical Republican,” Biden also said.
The president has been on tour since Saturday in two swing states: attending events with voters in both Georgia and Michigan.
