The gangster uncle of Kanye West’s wife Bianca Censori was facing a new life prison sentence after he was caught living with an alleged pedophile, a court heard.

Eris Censori, who was once sentenced to death in Western Australia for murdering a waiter, was nicknamed the ‘Al Capone of Melbourne‘ before his life of crime fell apart.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal Censori was arrested by Victoria Police detectives in September 2020 on suspicion of fraud.

But the discovery of a mobile phone belonging to his housemate, which allegedly contained child pornography, threatened to put him back behind bars forever.

Although he was acquitted of any wrongdoing, after the raid Censori was brought before the Adult Parole Board and faced being returned to prison to serve his life sentence.

In a statement of claim filed against the State of Victoria in the Supreme Court of Victoria, Censori alleged that the record that brought him before the parole board was obtained “through misconduct and in the absence of facts.”

Censori, who has changed his name to Tony Campana, said his arrest “defamed” his good character and “caused him to suffer public ridicule, shame and contempt.”

He escaped the death penalty for murdering waiter Michael Sideris in the 1980s because capital punishment was later abolished in Western Australia in 1984.

He is the brother of Bianca’s father, Elia ‘Leo’ Censori, who also served a harsh prison sentence after being convicted in 1982 for possession of a prohibited importation. after an Australian federal police raid found heroin in his kitchen.

Last year the Daily Mail Australia revealed that Leo also has convictions for possession of a gun and ammunition and served two years of his five-year sentence for drug charges..

His older brother Edmondo, known as ‘Eddie Capone’, also has convictions in Victoria for violence, including assaulting police, robbery and threats.

Censori’s lawyer Victor Andreou, who once defended Zlate ‘Steve’ Cvetanovski, former underworld boss Tony Mokbel, appeared in court this week on Censori’s behalf.

The court heard Censori hoped to gain access to documents that would help him prove his case against the government, which he holds responsible for his arrest by Victoria Police detectives.

In court documents provided to the court, Bianca’s uncle claimed police used his sale of a property in Brunswick to obtain the search warrant under the guise of investigating alleged fraud against the Bank of Queensland.

At the time of his arrest, Censori was staying in Bulleen, northeast of Melbourne, with two other men.

“(Censori) was in his room, which had a window overlooking the front yard, when he noticed the door open and an escort of six large men entered, all armed with handguns,” the documents state.

‘(He) immediately suspected that the companions were members of Victoria Police. The idea filled him with apprehension.

Police had alleged that the Brunswick property he sold had been purchased from him with fraudulently obtained funds.

‘I think you made a mistake. I am the seller. I didn’t collect money in any bank,” Censori told detectives.

Escorted to his room, Censori claimed that police officers asked him to hand over documents related to the sale before they asked him for access to his phone and computer.

“Toward the end of the search, (Censori) was shown a cell phone recovered from another occupant’s room and was asked questions about the occupant of said room and the contents of the cell phone,” the documents state.

Censori claimed the lead detective told him he was aware of his criminal conviction for murder, that he had served a long prison sentence and was still appearing before the parole board 25 years after his release.

“Any criminal charge, even an accusation of being involved in a crime, could result in a probation violation, resulting in me being returned to prison and ultimately deported,” he told the detective.

At the conclusion of the search, Censori said he was handcuffed and paraded in front of his neighbors before being taken to the police station for questioning.

After being fingerprinted and questioned by police, Censori was released without charge.

Upon arriving home, his partner ‘Mohamed’ revealed that he was arrested for having images of child pornography on his phone and wanted to know what would become of him.

‘Mohamed tried to offer an explanation as to why he had the image on his phone and (Censori) responded in terms: “Don’t tell me. “I don’t want to know,” the documents state.

Censori claimed that the parole board found him in January 2021, where they questioned him about his relationship with the alleged pedophile.

“Approximately one week after this interview, the probation officer contacted the complainant by telephone to inform him that he had been referred to the full Board of the Adult Parole Board and that he was required to appear before them,” Censori told the court.

“The Full Board decided not to return plaintiff to prison for breach of probation, but warned that any additional incidents would result in the cancellation of his probation and his return to prison.”

Censori stated that he told the board that he had noor relationship with his housemate and did not know anything about the contents of Mohamed’s phone.

“The probation officer expressed disbelief and said words to the effect that ‘you’re being deliberately evasive,'” Censori said.

In taking the matter to court, Censori said the lead detective “displayed a forceful attitude.” [scornful] contempt for [his] right to privacy and liberty, inflicting harm with malice’.

In a long list of complaints, Censori alleged that police searched bedrooms and took possession of items that were not within the scope authorized by his court order and “deliberately fostered the perception in the eyes of the Parole Board that (he) was involved in someone else’s crime.”

In addition, he accused the police of assault, false arrest and imprisonment and of launching a malicious process.

In a statement responding to the claim, Victoria Police defended the way it arrested Censori.

“(Censori) was in custody for conspiracy to defraud the Bank of Queensland and (he) was formally reprimanded after which (he) stated that he understood,” the defense said.

Police denied assaulting Censori, illegally arresting him or engaging in malicious prosecution.

Furthermore, he dismissed suggestions that Censori’s arrest had “defamed” his good character.

“He denies that he defamed the plaintiff and further says that the statement of claim does not disclose a cause of action for defamation,” the government’s lawyers said.

‘He denies that any matter published or caused to be published by the defendant has caused or is likely to cause serious harm to the plaintiff’s reputation.’

The matter will return to court in June.

ERIS CENSORI’S FIGHT WITH SIS

During a court fight last year with her sister over a property in Brunswick, Elenia Censori described Eris as a man not to be trifled with.

“Eris is not a person you can say no to… she can be intimidating,” he told the court.

Eris was released from prison in May 1994 and lived with Leo in Melbourne for six weeks before moving in with her sister at his home in Heidelberg.

Its fallout arose from the 2005 purchase of two vacant blocks on Union Street, Brunswick, just north of Melbourne’s CBD, on which Eris intended to build investment properties.

Eris testified that he offered to sell one of the Union Street townhomes to his sister in April 2014 for $550,000, but she was only willing to pay $280,000.

He finally sold the second house in 2013 for $675,000.

He was not willing to sell the other for less than $550,000, which he considered a price that provided Mrs. Censori with “a considerable profit.”

Judge Michael McDonald told the court he accepted the convicted murderer’s plea. evidence, ordering Elenia to turn over title to the property – now valued at nearly $1 million – to her brother.

Additionally, he ordered Elenia to pay her brother the $182,097 in unpaid rent, plus interest.
