Beyoncé wowed by paying homage to legendary hairstyles in an unforgettable cover shoot for CR Fashion Book.
The iconic fashion publication removed Beyonce’s racy photo shoot from its #24 issue on Friday, along with an interview with Queen Bey and her mother Tina Knowles, 70.
Together, the mother-daughter duo have launched the new Cécred hair care line.
The shoot paid tribute to ‘iconic hairstyles throughout history’ and saw Beyoncé, 42, sporting a variety of new hairstyles, including a bold mullet.
When the image of Beyoncé sporting the striking hairstyle first surfaced on Thursday, many fans wondered if the mullet was Beyoncé’s way of introducing her next chapter in music: rock.

In the interview, conducted by CR Fashion Book founder Carine Roitfeld, Beyonce and her mother discussed a variety of topics, from hair disasters to her new hair business.
The last time Beyonce appeared on the cover of CR Fashion Book was 10 years ago, and her life has evolved dramatically since then.
“A lot of things have changed in the last decade,” he said. ‘At that time I was a first-time mother and now my baby is twelve years old and he is taller than me. I am also a proud mother to my Gemini twins, who will soon be turning seven.
‘I can’t believe my self-titled album came out in 2013! Now I’ve released Lemonade and RENAISSANCE. My company has grown and I am very proud of the new hair care brand, Cécred, that I just launched. I feel like I’ve evolved as a filmmaker and producer, and I’m at a place in my life where I can work at my own pace and only make things that I truly believe in. But I must admit that I am still struggling to balance all the hats I wear,” he said.
While Beyoncé is launching her own hair care line, she’s not immune to suffering from a hair disaster.
She described how she damaged her hair after bleaching it for the 2001 Grammys with a product intended for eyebrows.
‘One of my hair nightmares was at the 2001 Grammys. It was the year Destiny’s Child won our first Grammy. I took bleach made for bleaching eyebrows and put it on the front of my hair because I was too impatient to wait for the color.
“My hair turned out very platinum, but two weeks later, the front part of my hair broke very badly. I’ve done some crazy things with my hair but you can’t live with regrets. Being safe is boring. We all have those hair moments that are tremendously unattractive at some point in our lives.

The filming was accompanied by an interview with Queen Bey and her mother Tina Knowles, 70.
She also talked about working with her mother on the new hair line and called it an “honor” to have her on her “squad for life.”
‘My mom and I want the same things; be authentic, work hard, be innovative and respect the creativity of others. Working closely with my mother allows me to know every day that there is someone who will help me get up no matter how many times I fall.’
Despite being a mother of three now, Beyonce says her mother still occasionally talks to her like a teenager, but that’s just part of the job as a mother-daughter team.
‘When building my hair business, it took me a while to get it right and it was the best feeling knowing that I could bounce anything off of her and that she would give me honest feedback, even if I didn’t ask to hear it, haha. Working as a family also has its moments. Sometimes we’re in a big meeting and she interrupts me and starts talking to me like she’s a teenager.

‘It’s a mom thing; No matter where she is or who she talks to, I am her daughter. I appreciate the time I spend with my mom. The special connection between mother and daughter is one of the most sacred and I know that I am fortunate and blessed to have the relationship that I have with my mother. What an honor to have her on my team for life.’
As for Cecred, her new hair care line, it’s a dream come true for Beyoncé.
Speaking about the creation of the brand, he said: “It has always been a dream of mine to create top-of-the-line luxury products. I wanted to combine the best scientific advances with true rituals from different heritages. I am interested in solving real problems.
‘I want to break myths and stereotypes when it comes to our hair. Great quality is great quality regardless of who is behind it. It was important to me to find a team of diverse women from different backgrounds who were masterfully the best in their fields to build Cécred with me.
‘We all want healthy hair and that starts with a clean, strong, hydrated scalp and making your health a priority. The packaging is really special too. We designed each one to look like sculptures. And taking it to have a texture like stone was something so innovative, clean and minimalist.”

Beyonce also dished on her incredible shoot, in which she rocked a variety of daring looks.
In the photos, Beyoncé is seen wearing a series of fashion-forward ensembles, from a mesh top paired with double denim to a sexy corset top that showed off her derriere.
Throughout the shoot, the Crazy In Love singer sported a variety of iconic hairstyles seen throughout history.
Speaking about the message he hoped to convey with his shoot, he said: “Every era is defined by sound and sight. There is always music, fashion and trends that make an era unforgettable.
‘Growing up, I was inspired by my favorite musical icons. Those styles told us a lot about the women who wore them. I can literally hear the music just by looking at the hairstyles. I always wanted an asymmetrical cut in the ’90s, but my mother wouldn’t let me do it. So I’m having the time of my life on this session. “That’s what we really wanted to channel in this shoot: a symphony of hairstyles inspired by iconic hair throughout history.”
Her mother Tina also appears in the shoot in an outfit that pays homage to the 70s. Tina looks incredible in an elegant belted outfit combined with leather gloves and a perfect hairstyle.
Talking about the most beautiful part of that decade, Tina said: ‘The ’70s were my hot girl era in terms of fashion and hairstyles. I sported the biggest afro you could ever have. They were all the colors in the book. The sky was the limit with fashion. You could go there, it was really wild.
‘Back then, I used to go to Sessions, where all these groups like The Isley Brothers and The Chi-Lites would come to town and perform in Galveston, Texas, on Friday nights. I would go with my sister and my nephew Johnny and we would have a great time. I just turned seventy years old and the 70s remind me of pure freedom. ‘
