Beyoncé fans were left furious after the singer failed to show up at a rally in Texas for Kamala Harris.
The star took the stage in his native Houston to support the vice president on Friday night.
Some fans had waited more than 12 hours before filling the city’s Shell Energy Stadium awaiting a performance, after rumors that she would sing circulated online and were reported in the Washington Post.
The singer seemed tantalizingly close to delighting the crowd when she began talking about how it’s time for America to “sing a new song.”
However, rally attendees were left disappointed when the ‘Single Ladies’ singer made a brief appearance in which she said she was not there as a celebrity, but as a mother.

Attendees reported seeing people marching toward the exit as soon as she left the stage.
The fury was palpable on social media, where fans complained they had been “baffled” by the billing.
“Bait and switch creates a crowd,” one person fumed. “I promised a performance to draw people in and they headed for the exits when Beyoncé left the stage.”
‘He can’t even keep his promises to his own fans with a Beyoncé performance, but he will totally close the border and stuff. “Kamala Harris is a disaster,” added another.
“Everyone thought they were going to a free Beyoncé concert,” one person joked.
Beyoncé previously performed during her endorsement of Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Beyoncé was accompanied by her former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, who helped introduce Harris.
Many people had anticipated that she might sing her song ‘Freedom’ from her 2016 album Lemonade, which has been adopted as Harris’ campaign anthem.
And on Friday, her former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland joined the event, but she didn’t sing anything from her or the band’s discography.
Instead, the two introduced Harris to rapturous applause.
“We are so happy to be here on this stage as proud women of Texas country supporting and celebrating the one and only Vice President Kamala Harris,” she said.
“We are on the brink of incredible change, on the brink of history,” Beyoncé said.
The singer added that she came across as someone “who cares deeply about the world that my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies.”
“Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what is possible without ceilings or limitations,” she said.
The singer said she was speaking as a mother and not a celebrity when she described her support for Harris’ position on women’s rights.
Other celebrities who endorsed Harris on Friday included Jessica Alba.
Fans took to X to express their frustrations, with many saying they felt “baffled” by the appearance.
She also told the roaring crowd to imagine the sacrifices their grandmothers had made “so we can witness the strength of a woman in her power, reimagining what leadership is.”
Beyoncé addressed everyone saying “your vote is one of the most valuable tools and we need you.”
He said Texas has a role to play and needs to be part of something bigger.
“It’s time for America to sing a new song,” he said.
Before that, Rowland spoke, telling the crowd that Houston “has already helped create the destination.”
“We are snatching the pen from those who attempt to write an American history that would deny women the right to make our own decisions about our bodies,” Rowland said.
Singer-guitarist Willie Nelson was the only live musical performance of the night.
“We’re taking back the pen, that pen to forge a new path with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz,” he said. The singer revealed that she already voted for them.
They weren’t the only celebrities taking the stage in Texas. Actress and businesswoman Jessica Alba also spoke and music legend Willie Nelson performed.
