Beverly Hills, 90210 actress Gabrielle Carteris put on a brave face as she surfaced on Tuesday, three days after her co-star Shannen Doherty died of cancer at age 53.
Amid an outpouring of grief over Shannen’s death, Gabrielle poignantly wrote on Instagram that her late co-star Luke Perry was “there with open arms to love her.”
It has been learned that Gabrielle, as well as several other actors who appeared on Beverly Hills, 90210, are organizing a memorial tribute for Shannen at a cast reunion that was already scheduled for later this year.
As she stepped out in Los Angeles on Tuesday to run some errands, Gabrielle cut a low-key figure in an all-white ensemble.
The 63-year-old managed a smile as she walked down the sidewalk carrying a small plastic bag filled with her purchases.

Shannen, who played Brenda Walsh on the hit drama, died Saturday at age 53 after years of living with breast cancer.
Now, a source close to Shannen has told DailyMail.com that her former co-stars are finalising plans for a tribute at the upcoming 90s Con Florida on 13 September.
Gabrielle, Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering and Brian Austin Green will reunite to share their memories while also honoring Luke, who played Shannen’s love interest on the beloved show.
“The cast of 90210 will be reuniting at the 90s convention, which Shannen was very excited to attend,” a source told DailyMail.com. “She loved being with the gang. They’ve been her other family all her life and her TV family forever.
“There were some moments at the end of her time on the show, but that was all buried a long, long time ago. Shannen loved them and they loved her.
‘The cast will share words about her and put together a montage of Shannen and Luke Perry’s iconic scenes. Her death really had an impact on Shannen and this seems like a fitting tribute.
“Without Shannen, 90210 would never have reached the level of success it did. She was a huge part of its rise to fame and everyone knows it. She will be honored with a memorial in Florida and everyone is looking forward to it.”

Gabrielle, who played Andrea Zuckerman, posted about the upcoming event just hours before Shannen died.
Alongside a promotional poster featuring the cast, she wrote: “64 days until we’re in Florida for #90sConFL. Come hang out with us. Tell me what your favorite episodes were. Who was your crush? Thanks #thats4ent for putting this together. #90210.”
Hours later, she posted a tribute to Shannen and Luke, who died at age 52 in 2019 from a stroke.
“So young, so sad,” she posted alongside a photo of the sky. “Rest in peace Shannen. I know Luke is there with open arms to love you.”
Social media was flooded with tributes to Shannen over the weekend as the world mourned her passing.
Shannen was scheduled to reunite with her former co-stars for the September 13 event (pictured with the cast in 1991).
Shannen died five years after Luke. The couple played love interests Brenda Walsh and Dylan McKay during the four seasons they shared together on the hit show.
Jennie, who played Kelly Taylor, said she was still processing her tremendous grief over the loss of her lifelong friend.
She wrote: “I will miss her and always hold her deeply in my heart and memories. My heart breaks for her family and for Bowie.”
Brian wrote: ‘Shan, my sister… You loved me through it all. You were a huge part of my understanding of love. I will miss you more than I can process right now. Thank you for the gift you gave me.’
Tori, 51, posted a photo of herself and Shannen on Instagram Stories and wrote: ‘I still have no words to express.
“But WE knew it and that’s what matters.”
The post included rows of broken red heart emojis and an explosion of gold sparkles on the top line.
Beverly Hills, 90210 was created by Darren Star, 62, and executive produced by Tori’s late father, Aaron Spelling, who died in 2006 at age 83.
Tori played Donna Martin, who grew up in Beverly Hills as the daughter of a successful doctor and a socialite.

Gabrielle, 63, who played the brainy Andrea Zuckerman on 90210, also paid tribute to Shannen and her former co-star Luke Perry, who died in 2019.
An independent source dismissed any talk of a reboot following Shannen’s death, saying it “wouldn’t feel right.”
“With Shannen’s passing, the rest of the 90210 cast would not like to do anything in the 90210 world again,” they said.
‘They’ve done it, they’ve tried and without Shannen and Luke, it just wouldn’t feel right.
“If they reboot the franchise in some way, it’s going to be very difficult for the show to bring back Ian, Brian and the rest of the gang. They want to remember it for what it was and honor it rather than dive back into it and try to catch lightning again.”
Shannen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.
Just two years later, he revealed that he had returned after entering remission.
At the time, she told Good Morning America: ‘In a matter of days or a week it will be known that I’m stage 4. So my cancer came back and that’s why I’m here.
“I don’t think I’ve really taken it in. It’s a bitter pill to swallow in many ways.”
Last year, she announced that her cancer had spread to her brain in an Instagram post that showed her undergoing radiation therapy.
Shannen’s publicist, Leslie Sloane, confirmed the actress’ death on Sunday.
“It is with great sadness that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty,” he said. “On Saturday 13th July she lost her battle with cancer after many years of battling the disease.
‘The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones and her dog, Bowie. The family asks for privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.’
