The court heard the harassment began after Aguero ended the couple’s relationship in a phone call in October last year saying he had “fallen in love” with Sheekey.

But in response, she was said to have been bombarded with “hundreds” of messages and phone calls and when he blocked her number, she used numerous unknown and restricted phone numbers to continue contacting him.

Miss Sarah McInerney, prosecuting, said: “He said he would come to Manchester to see him.” He told her not to do it and blocked her number, but she received several calls from unknown numbers. That day there were more than 100 calls.

‘In total 12 different numbers were used, including restricted numbers. The accused also began contacting him through social networks, such as Facebook, where she was also blocked.

‘Because she was constantly contacted at 11.30pm, the victim messaged the defendant saying, “I don’t want to see you,” but the message continued. She continued to call the victim’s family and at one point she said, “I have a knife. I’m going to kill you. I want to see you.”

‘On November 8, the victim began receiving multiple calls again. He answered a call and she said it was her. That day she received about 95 calls.

‘When questioned by the police, the accused made full admissions during the interview. He has no previous convictions but this crime is aggravated by having been committed in the domestic sphere and there have been threats to the victim.’

In a statement, Agüero said: “The situation has made me feel very anxious. I had to go to the doctor for my mental health and I had to call the police. I am anxious especially because she said she had a knife and that she was going to kill me. kill.

“I’m afraid that one day I might go out and she might be there with a knife. As a result, I stopped using the main entrance of the building.

Mitigating, Sheekey’s barrister John Black said: “This lady is of good character and admitted the allegation when she first appeared before her colleagues.”

‘The police interviewed her and the allegation was fully admitted. She fully accepts that her behavior was wrong and inappropriate.

‘The victim impact statement was made in November and there has been no contact between the parties since then. As far as the restraining order is concerned, there is no problem. “There is no intention to have any contact.”

Sheekey was also sentenced to a 12-month community order with a requirement that she undergo mental health treatment if deemed appropriate. She was also ordered to complete 20 rehabilitation activity days.
