Queen Letizia of Spain put on a glamorous show in a pale pink skirt suit on Wednesday as she and her husband, King Felipe VI, met Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome.

The Spanish royal couple’s meeting with Meloni in the Italian capital took place on the first day of their two-day state visit.

Letizia, 52, looked elegant in a pale pink embroidered skirt suit, which she paired with pointed high heels and a bag in the same shade.

The royal suit jacket had puffed sleeves and pearl embroidery on the front.

Cinched at the waist, the jacket flared out, while Letizia’s fitted pencil skirt fell just below the knee.

The mother-of-two wore her dark brown hair in a classic blow-dry and tucked it behind her ears to reveal a pair of gold and diamond earrings.

Letizia wore little makeup other than warm bronze eyeshadow on her eyelids and a pink tint on her lips.

Meanwhile, King Philip looked dapper in a dark suit paired with a white shirt and pale blue tie.

The smiling 56-year-old monarch was photographed with Letizia and Meloni on the stairs of the Doria Pamphili villa, which is part of the government headquarters.

Felipe and the Italian prime minister were also pictured sharing a joke, with Meloni throwing his head back as he laughed.

Meloni, 47, was ready for work in a beige pantsuit with a double-breasted jacket and a pair of baggy pants.

She wore her blonde hair in loose waves and lightened her complexion with golden eye shadow.

On Tuesday afternoon Letizia and Felipe visited an art school – the Royal Academy of Spain – to meet with the Italian Hispanitas Association on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.

There they met with colleagues from the Academy and saw works created by students from the previous academic year.

The Hispanitas Italiano Association was founded in 1973 with the objective of promoting exchanges and meetings between Italian researchers dedicated to the study of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America.

Letizia channeled the holiday season in an all-white ensemble consisting of a trench coat, pantsuit, and scarf.

The event ended with a reception for the Spanish community at the Montorio Palace, residence of the Spanish Embassy in Italy.

About 500 Spanish citizens attended, including businessmen, teachers, artists, athletes and scientists.

The King thanked everyone for coming “to our – and your – embassy in Rome, for this warm welcome to a country so close, near and dear, where, without a doubt, you have integrated and where you feel welcome.”

He concluded: “We are very happy to meet and greet you in person and hope you will share your experiences here with us.”
