- Benjamin Nawdrowski, 32, was arrested in July and accused of looking out of a woman’s window while she was changing her baby’s diaper
- During his arrest, Nawdrowski said he was simply exercising and smoking a cigarette outside the woman’s home.
A Rhode Island man who was arrested in June and charged with stealing sex toys from women in a series of bizarre robberies is back in custody, this time accused of looking out a mother’s window while she was changing her baby’s diapers.
Benjamin Nawdrowski, 32, said during his July 21 arrest that he was simply exercising outside the woman’s home and was smoking a cigarette when she saw him and called the police report WPRI.
The suspect, who says on his Facebook page that he is the father of two boys and has been sober since 2021, also claimed he knew the area where he was exercising because he made food deliveries in this community.
“I wasn’t looking into anyone’s windows, I swear to God!” Nadrowski can be heard saying in publicly released body camera video. Witnesses say the suspect had a female passenger in the car with him when he got out to look out the window.

On his Facebook page, Nawdrowski says he is the father of two boys and has been sober since 2021.
Nawdrowski faces disorderly charges in addition to the break and enter counts he is charged with in connection with the sex toy thefts in June.
At the time of his arrest in June, the suspect said he planned to give the stolen items to a friend as a gift.
He had not been released on bail, but due to the July arrest, Nawdrowski is now being held without bail.
In June, Nawdrowski explained to the officers who arrested him why he was in the area where the sex toy thefts had taken place, including that he was looking for objects thrown away by students returning home for the summer and that was in the area to buy weed.
During an attempted robbery, he was confronted by a tenant of the house who chased him away. This renter then called the police after seeing Nawdrowski’s car in the area later that night.

During his arrest, Nawdrowski said he was simply exercising and smoking a cigarette outside the woman’s home.
According to his Facebook page, Nawdrowski said he works for Walmart and resides in East Providence, Rhode Island.
Online records show this is not Nawdrowski’s first brush with the law, in 2012 and 2013 he was charged with physically assaulting his then-wife.
During the 2012 incident, he admitted to officers that he had consumed 12 beers before the altercation. A year later, police were called to his home after he was accused of hitting his wife with his elbow.
The couple must have had an argument over selling items on Craigslist that ended up accusing Nawdrowski of cheating by his wife.
