Ben Affleck says his new movie The Way Back helped him rediscover his love for acting
am Affleck has credited his new movie The Way Back with helping him revive his love of acting.
“For me, I just saw it as a great acting opportunity and a return to something I really love,” the actor recently told Access Hollywood.
The film is close to home for Affleck, who plays an alcoholic basketball coach who finds redemption through working with a high school team in the new drama.

Ben was inspired by both the story and younger castmates such as Charles Lott Jr. and Melvin Gregg.
“Seeing their passion, their love, their dedication to it, has really given me a joy in this process.”
And Ben’s co-stars were equally impressed by him, with Charles explaining: “The performance he has, with the stature, it’s a bit like,” whoa.

The Oscar-winning star recently admitted that his own personal life influenced his decision to shine in The Way Back, because he also fought with alcoholism and he still has to deal with the failure of his marriage to Jennifer Garner in 2015.
Regarding his motivation to take on the role, Affleck said earlier: “I have never been risk averse – obviously better or worse. As for the way back, the benefits for me were much greater than the risks. I thought it was very therapeutic. “
