Ben Affleck was photographed working out in Los Angeles on Thursday amid reports that his rumored split from wife Jennifer Lopez could be further complicated by his upcoming film Unstoppable, which he is producing and she is starring in.
The 51-year-old “The Air” actor and director, whose relationship troubles with Lopez, 55, have dominated Hollywood headlines for months, was dressed in a grey sports jacket over a light blue button-down shirt with blue jeans and black boots.
The two-time Oscar winner, who is father to Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52, had a manila envelope in his hand when he was spotted in a parking lot on a weekday summer day.
A source said In touch Wednesday that Affleck and Lopez will need to get on the same page professionally amid their rumored split — which has been described as “imminent” — to promote Unstoppable, which he is producing with friend Matt Damon through their production company Artists Equity.
“Unstoppable is a tricky topic because Ben and Matt are so invested in its success, even if all we can see is that Ben and Jennifer are ending their marriage,” the source told the outlet.

The Air actor and director was dressed in a grey sports jacket over a light blue button-down shirt with blue jeans and black boots.
The source added: “This puts these guys in a tough spot if Ben and Jennifer do actually break up, but for now, they both want the movie to succeed and exist outside of Ben’s crazy relationship drama.”
“If Jennifer wants and asks Ben to be on Unstoppable, he’s not going to say no, no matter how awkward it might be. Jennifer and her team know that!”
Sources told the Mirror that “the end of their two-year marriage is stalling” because Affleck “doesn’t want to humiliate” Lopez; and that he and Damon have “bet millions” on the film.
The film, which features a cast that includes Lopez, Jharrel Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña and Don Cheadle, is set to debut next month at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
William Goldenberg, with whom Affleck had previously collaborated on films such as Air (2023) and Argo (2012), directed the film.
In Unstoppable, Jerome plays the role of Arizona State University amateur wrestling champion Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg.
Affleck in March 2023 said Sunday morning on CBS It was a pleasure to work closely with Lopez on the film.
“What a fun, what a joy to do something with her, to see her do her best, to go to work with your wife, to go to work with your best friend,” Affleck said. “If you don’t like who you work with and if you have difficulties or problems at work, I think that’s one of the things that can really cause depression and anxiety and pain in people. And conversely, (if) you love the people at work, you probably have a pretty good life, you know?”
The couple was photographed at the LACMA Art and Film Gala last November.
Lopez, who may be promoting her upcoming film Unstoppable with Affleck, was photographed last month in New York.
Affleck told the outlet when discussing Lopez’s work on the film: “I can’t make it seem like she’s doing it as a favor to me, but she really is.”
Affleck and Lopez have worked together in the past during their romance two decades ago, including the hit comedy Gigli in 2003 and the 2004 Kevin Smith film Jersey Girl.
Lopez, mother of twins Emme and Maximilian, 16, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, 55, was spotted with her wedding ring on when she and Emme stepped out to dinner at Beverly Hills restaurant e. baldi on Wednesday.
It’s been nearly two years since Affleck and Lopez exchanged vows at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022.
“In the end it was the best possible wedding we could have ever imagined,” Lopez said in her On the JLo newsletter on July 17, 2022. “A wedding we dreamed of for a long time and that was made very real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible, and each other) for a very, very, very long time.”
The couple exchanged vows again at Affleck’s estate outside Savannah, Georgia, on August 20, 2022.
