It allows artists to invest in the projects they are making so that the profits can be divided more fairly and Ben admitted that he wants to end the days when A-list stars made a lot of money even if the studio suffered losses on their film and He offered his unsuccessful 2003 film, Gigli, as an example.
He explained: “I’ve been in movies like ‘Gigli,’ that’s a famous example. I got a big cash payment for that. Well, in retrospect it doesn’t feel good because they (the studio) lost money.
“It wasn’t the biggest money-losing movie in history, although it was perhaps the most famous bomb in history. That doesn’t sit well with me, though.
‘But it also doesn’t sit well with people when they leave, wait a minute, we all sacrifice to commit to this. And then the old story of the $10 million movie that made $200 million and no one has seen a dime.
