A Kansas City DJ and mother of two has been named as a victim involved in the shooting at the Kansas City Super Bowl parade, in which 22 shots were fired.
The Kansas City star reported for the first time that Lisa López-Galván died in Wednesday’s shooting.
Close friends confirmed to the media that López Galván died during surgery at a hospital from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Three gunmen opened fire inside Union Station shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, seconds after the crew, including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, left the stage.
The team had been in town celebrating its Super Bowl victory on Sunday when chaos broke out.
The Kansas City Star reported that Lisa López Galván died in Wednesday’s shooting.
Close friends confirmed to the media that López Galván died during surgery at a hospital from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Police said 22 people were injured in the shooting, including nine children, and one person was killed. It is not clear if López Galván is that individual.
A friend of López-Galván, Lisa López, told the outlet: ‘She was the most wonderful, beautiful person.
‘She was a local DJ. She did everyone’s weddings. We all know her. She was so full of life.’
The Star reported that López Galván was married, had two children and worked as a DJ for a community radio station.
She co-hosted ‘Taste of Tejano’, which featured Hispanic music, alongside her brother Beto López.
The last update on the Taste of Tejano Facebook page read: ‘Friends and family. Please keep our family Lisa and López in your prayers.”
Since the news of his death, friends and family have begun to pay tribute to López Galván on social media.
One post read: ‘It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beautiful cousin Lisa López-Galván.
‘His senseless death at today’s KC parade has left us in shock and with a huge void in our hearts. Rest in peace dear Lisa, you will be missed. Until we see you again.’

While another posted: ‘Please keep my father’s family in your prayers. There are simply no words for this senseless loss.
‘Lisa was very kind, always calling and checking on the family. We will miss her smile and her light in the world. Please pray for the others who are still in the hospital.”
Video has emerged showing the moment Chiefs fans are seen fleeing the scene after rapid fire was fired during the celebrations.
Other images show the moment Chiefs fans tackle a suspect, and a woman is seen raising what appears to be an assault rifle.
The group knocked the suspected gunman to the ground and then shouted, “We have the gun.” The men held the suspect until police arrived to take him into custody.
A woman with a large cut on her face was seen being stretchered away from the scene.
Police detained two armed men at the scene as the parade descended into chaos. It is unclear if the man in the photo was involved.
A large police presence descended on Union Square after gunshots were heard at the Kansas City Chiefs Superbowl parade.
At a news conference, Police Chief Stacey Graves said, “We are working to determine if one of the three is the one who was in that video, where fans assisted police.”
Graves also said firearms were recovered after the shooting, saying, “We have recovered firearms.” I don’t have a number for you or a gauge.
No charges have been announced and police said no motive has been determined. Police have referred to those in custody as detainees.
While Kansas City Fire Chief Ross Grundyson said eight victims suffered immediately fatal injuries.
Police evacuated the train station as large crowds fled in panic after the shooting, and up to a million people were expected to have arrived in Kansas City for the parade.
Fans were seen leaving the venue, and several people were carried away on stretchers.
Another man in a red sweatshirt was also photographed being arrested, although it is unclear if he was one of those involved in the shooting.
Graves said at a news conference about two hours after the shooting that officers sprang into action and quickly detained the gunmen.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said he was inside Union Station when the shooters started shooting.
No charges have been announced and police said no motive has been determined. The police have described the people detained as detainees.
The shooting occurred moments after Kansas City Chiefs players celebrated their victory on stage.
About an hour after the shooting, people inside the nearby Westin hotel were ordered to take cover as police rushed toward the hotel.
The White House said in a statement: “The president has been briefed on the shooting in Kansas City and will continue to receive updates.”
“White House officials have been in contact with state and local leaders, and federal authorities are on the scene supporting local authorities.”
The Chiefs said in a statement: “We are truly saddened by the senseless act of violence that occurred outside Union Station at the conclusion of today’s parade and rally.
‘Our hearts go out to the victims, their families and all of Kansas City. At this time, we have confirmed that all of our players, coaches, staff and their families are safe and accounted for.
“We are grateful to local law enforcement and first responders who were on scene to assist.”
