Veteran Australian actor Nicholas Eadie died in Sydney on Wednesday aged 67.
The beloved actor was born in Sydney in 1958 and worked extensively in Australian film and television for more than three decades.
His tragic death was announced by fellow actor Will Conyers on social media: ‘Okay, Nicholas Eadie, 1958 – 2025.
“I send my deepest condolences to all those who were touched by this very special artist and human being.”
No cause of death was given and it was revealed that he was found at his home in Sydney.
Eadie graduated in 1980 from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts in Sydney.

He began his celebrated acting career in 1981 with a two-year stint on the Channel Seven series Cop Shop, where he played Constable Sam Phillips.
His long career saw him appear in many renowned Australian productions including A Country Practice, Return to Snowy River and Halifax FP.
He was also an accomplished stage actor and performed throughout Australia in productions of A Midsummer Nights Dream, The Taming of the Shrew and much more.
Eadie’s last acting role was in the 2011 television movie Underbelly Files: The Man Who Got Away, opposite Boy Swallows Universe star Toby Schmitz.
Many of Eadie’s friends and fans quickly took to social media to share their heartbreak over her passing.
“Okay, the magnificent Nicholas Eadie, one of Australia’s finest actors,” wrote theater director Les Solomon.
‘One of my most lasting memories is of his moving and heartbreaking performances. Okay Nicholas,” added theater director Robert Jarman.
—Oh, no, dear Nicolás. What sad news. I loved this wonderful man so much,” a third person wrote.

His incredible performances were often recognized at the Australian Film Institute Awards.
In 1987 he won the award for Best Actor in a Miniseries for his performance in the series Vietnam, alongside Nicole Kidman.
He was also nominated in 2000 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a TV Movie or Miniseries for his work on Halifax FP.
Eadie worked with many of Australia’s most famous actors throughout her career, including Nicole Kidman, Barry Otto and Cornelia Frances.
He was a notoriously private person in real life and it is not known if he is survived by a partner or children.
