Celebrity chef Maggie Beer was rushed to hospital by her husband Colin Beer after suffering a fall at home that left her with broken bones and other injuries.
The Great Australian Bake Off star, 79, is now recovering and a family member shared a message with followers on Instagram on Sunday night.
The loved one assured fans that the regular MasterChef guest star is in the best medical hands possible and will likely make a full recovery.
“Hi friends, we are Maggie’s family,” the lengthy message began alongside an image of a smiling Maggie.
‘I’m just writing to let you know that following a fall at home you have unfortunately suffered a couple of minor bone fractures and related injuries.
‘Fortunately, Col, her husband, was there and she is now in the excellent hands of her doctors, who are confident that she will make a full recovery.
‘It may just take a little time.
“More than anything, Maggie hates disappointing people, but she has several events and public engagements coming up that she may have to miss.”
They continued: ‘She has asked us to apologise on her behalf to all those affected and has asked for patience while she recovers.
‘Thank you for your understanding – The Brewing Family.’
