Beetlejuice fans are desperate to get tickets to the London premiere just hours before the film opens, after the sequel received an incredible four-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival.

Tim BurtonBeetlejuice’s Beetlejuice is the long-awaited sequel to his 1988 fantasy comedy horror film Beetlejuice.

The film will have its UK premiere at the Leicester Square Odeon on Thursday night and will hit UK cinemas on 4 September.

Beetlejuice 2 sees Catherine, 70, Winona Ryder, 52, and Michael Keaton, 72, all reprising their roles, 35 years later.

It had its world premiere in Venice on Wednesday, and fans flooded X, formerly Twitter, to reveal their plans to attend the London premiere.

Beetlejuice follows a group of ghosts who hire Beetlejuice (Michael, pictured) to scare Lydia (Winona, pictured) and her family after they buy their old house, but Beetlejuice falls in love with her.

The plot of Beetlejuice (1984) is as follows: after Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) die in a car accident, they find themselves trapped hanging around their country residence, unable to leave the house.

When the unbearable Deetzes family (Catherine O’Hara and Jeffrey Jones) and their teenage daughter Lydia (Winona) buy the house, the Maitlands try to scare them off without success.

Their efforts attract Beetlejuice (Michael), a troublemaking spirit whose “help” quickly turns dangerous for the Maitlands and innocent Lydia.

The plot of Beetlejuice reads: ‘Three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River after an unexpected family tragedy.

Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is soon turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter discovers a mysterious portal to the afterlife.

‘When someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times, the mischievous demon gleefully returns to unleash his own brand of mayhem.’

At Wednesday’s premiere, Winona wore a suit-inspired dress and hugged Jenna, who dazzled in red.

The standing ovation they would later receive was interrupted by the festival organizers, who turned off the lights so the cast could leave.

Jenna told him earlier The New York Times of working with Winona: ‘She was so warm, welcoming, kind and caring from the very beginning, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

“It was at a time when my career was taking a different turn and I didn’t realize I needed that from someone who could relate to me, but I did,” she said, adding that she was in a “transformative” period in her life after skyrocketing to overnight stardom on Netflix’s Wednesday.

Previously, Winona admitted Slash movie that She found it “hard to imagine” a sequel to the hit film.

She said: ‘I I guess I certainly never imagined Lydia having children or being in any kind of relationship.

“I always thought she probably stayed in her own world as she grew up. In the attic, happy, but alone.”
