Beetlejuice 2, which sees Michael Keaton return as the iconic Poltergeist, will be released in theaters this fall.
As Warner Bros. announced. The film will be released on September 6, 2024, which remains largely within previous expectations that it will be available in late 2024 or early 2025.
Interestingly, it shares a release date with the Marvel’s Blade movie reboot, which on the other hand was recently revealed to have been put on hold due to the ongoing writers’ strike, so it’s possible that Blade’s release date will change later.
It’s unclear if Beetlejuice 2 has even gotten a completed script yet, but given the confidence Warner Bros. In announcing the release date during an open strike, it is likely that the scenario is in its final stages. The first official reveal of the studio’s sequel came last month at CinemaCon, where they showed off a video featuring snapshots of the logos.
In addition to Keaton, Wednesday and Scream star Jenna Ortega will reportedly join the role as the daughter of Lydia Deetz, played by Winona Ryder in the original 1988 film. Deadline What’s new is that Justin Theroux will join the cast in an undisclosed role.
Plot details remain a mystery, though Ryder is expected to return to reprise the role with Tim Burton returning as director, according to Deadline. Production is expected to begin this month.
