Terrifying footage shows the moment a man armed with a huge sword attacked a man on a train full of shocked passengers.
The man had to fight for his life in hospital after being stabbed on the train at Beckenham Junction this afternoon.
Police are still searching for the attacker and urging witnesses to come forward with information.

The witness then says: “I’m on the train to Beckenham Junction and this man is stabbing someone on the train.”

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after the man was seriously injured in Beckenham Junction today.

British Transport Police said in a statement: “Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was seriously injured today at Beckenham Junction.
‘At around 3.56pm today (March 27), we received reports of two men fighting as they entered a train at Shortlands (railway station). One man suffered serious injuries that appear to have been stabbed.
“Officers attended, along with colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Service and London Ambulance Service, and the victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“Investigations are ongoing and there have been no arrests so far.
‘British Transport Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 397 of 27/03/2024 .

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (Wednesday) at 3.58pm to reports of an incident at Beckenham Junction station.
‘We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and the London Air Ambulance.
“We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a major trauma center in London.”
