Because of an Israeli stamp on her passport.. Kuwaiti journalist Fajr Al-Saeed was prevented from entering Lebanon

Date:

The “Lebanese Normalization Prevention” law prohibits any citizen who holds a passport with an Israeli stamp from entering Lebanon.

The Kuwaiti media, Fajr Al-Saeed, was surprised by the decision to prevent her from entering Lebanon by the General Security, after her arrival at Beirut International Airport on Wednesday.

According to Lebanese media sources, the main reason behind preventing Al-Saeed from entering Lebanese territory is the presence of the Israeli authorities’ stamp on her passport, which is considered a violation of Lebanese law.

The “Lebanese Normalization Prevention” law prohibits any citizen who holds a passport with an Israeli stamp from entering Lebanon.

According to a video and tweets she posted on social media, Al-Saeed remained detained by the Lebanese General Security until Thursday morning, before announcing her arrival in Kuwait on Thursday.

In the middle of the night, Suleiman Al-Shahin, Chargé d’Affaires of the Kuwaiti Embassy in Lebanon, intervened and took Al-Saeed to the departures hall, where she waited for the plane on which she traveled back to her country.

In her first tweets about what happened, Al-Saeed wrote on her Twitter page: “I have been at Beirut airport for five hours.

In another tweet, Al-Saeed touched on her participation in the “Unknown” program some time ago on a Lebanese channel, a program presented by the journalist Rudolf Hilal, during which she spoke about “Hezbollah”.

And she added, “Mr. Rudolph, you asked me in the episode that Hezbollah is democratic, and despite my attack on it, it allowed me to enter Lebanon?! I have been detained at Lebanon’s airport from 7:30 am until now, waiting for any plane to take me back to my country, because I am not allowed to enter Lebanon. The people are sensitive.”

Lebanese interacted on social media with the decision to prevent Al-Saeed from entering.

The media, Yomna Sherri, wrote via Twitter: “An Israeli stamp on Fajr Al-Saeed’s passport prevents her entry to Lebanon and requires her deportation. These are the laws of our country, Lebanon.”

In turn, journalist Ahmed Yassin commented, via Twitter, saying: “Kuwaiti journalist Fajr Al-Saeed was prevented from entering Lebanon for legal reasons, the most important of which is her visit to Israel and the presence of an Israeli stamp on her passport. She announced her visit to Israel previously and with a simple legal review she can find out the reason for her ban instead of turning the case into a political one.” .

In a related context, Lebanese journalist Firas Farhat wrote, commenting on Al-Saeed’s accusations: “To the journalist Fajr Al-Saeed, we say: The airport authority is first and foremost in the hands of the Lebanese state, and it is the decision-maker. Secondly, preventing your entry is not political, as you claimed. As for the reason… Lebanon does not recognize Israel, and the presence of an Israeli stamp on your passport prevents you from entering Lebanon, simply.

There are no relations between Israel and Lebanon, and the two countries are considered to be in a state of hostility

The Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, had threatened a few days ago to return Lebanon to the stone age, if Hezbollah made a mistake and attacked Israel.
