The Bears and Texans saw their preseason openers cut short. The Hall of Fame game was called off early due to thunderstorms.
The Bears won 21-17. The game was suspended with 3:31 remaining in the third quarter.

Brett Rypien was the star of the exhibition game, completing 11 of 15 passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns.
The Bears head to Buffalo to face the Bills in their second preseason game on August 10.
